Why does Baclofen tighten the reflux muscle structure? Does it tighten ALL sphincter muscles in your body? Does it loosen all your other muscles as it is intended to do in the meantime? Will very violent vomiting dislodge or displace Linx magnets? Are you saying common reflux drugs simply address acid but not the mechanical aspects of reflux? Doesn't the high level of acid present in stomach contents decrease bacteria in your fluids? So wouldn't it follow that anti-acid drugs (which are extremely common!) increase your chances of a lung infection? What CAUSES reflux problems in the first place? Why do these muscles even malfunction in the first place? When you talk about root causes & healing problems long term (and thinking about prevention), can we address the REAL root cause at all, in prevention or intervention? All the public-facing materials blame weight, diet & lifestyle, but why would any of those things cause a sphincter muscle to fail? You are my doc & want very much to run one of these gizmos down my nose but IDK. You asked pre-pandemic but I have never had GERD symptoms until the last few months so until I watched this terrific video I did not know WHY.
