Street Outlaw Reaper Last Ride RIP!!

In this video we have James Goad in his reaper ss camaro at his all star no prep race in xtreme raceway in Edinburg, texas. What makes this really sad is due to the fact Reaper and the orange yenko were burned to the ground in a horrific trailer fire. Reaper was driving back home and sparks were shooting out of the trailer so james pulls over to check and the trailer was engulfed quickly from the flames. An extremely sad sight to see after a powerful track session eariler that day. This video shows the reapers last ride down the track and we hope its not the last time the reaper comes out again. Absolutely!!! I don't really care much for Reaper, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to hear that he died in a race. I mean there is a lot of drivers that's not one of our favorites, but we sure don't to hear about any of them dying. It takes the ones that we don't like to make drag racing so much un to watch. Just like when Birdman wrecked his firebird in the JJ the boss race. I personally can't stand Birdman as a drag racer, but I really felt bad for him when he in that terrible crash. I guess they are the love to hate drivers, but we hate them only bc they are always so damn fast, and hardly ever lose. Just saying, I never want to see any of them seriously hurt or killed!!!

As a car guy and a fellow 1st gen Camaro owner/enthusiast I can definitely say I feel for you brother! I sold my first 67 and kicked myself for years. Since then I have gotten another one but with family life and everyday struggles it’s still a project/dream in the works. I also don’t like to take money away from the family by putting my car ahead of most everything life throws at me but I know that one day I’ll get there or I’ll leave a treasure to one of my kids and hopefully they will love the car life also! I’m hoping that even if you decide not to build another Reaper that you will continue to find a way to keep yourself out there inspiring the younger generation!

That doesn't make sense. Because the insurance wouldn't have covered enough to replace Reaper and spare parts, let alone the the second race car, parts, trailer and tools. 🤔. Not to having a fire suppression system in the trailer, with that much $$ in it, isn't very wise though. Thank goodness nobody was hurt.

I've been away from the drag racing scene for many years, but I have 2 questions in response to this clickbait titled video. What was the steam coming from the '55 Chevy car? Then, in the Reaper Camaro, with that exhaust system, what drives the turbo?

The 55 was purging nitrous, but it did seem more than needed. The video might have been showing different angles of the same times though making it seem he was purging more than he was. Reaper's car is using a procharger supercharger, not a turbo. Thus he is still using the zoomie style headers. Hope that helps
