​@@brianmurray7980 I'd say until we see a driver last more than three years at Wood Bros, and start being competitive on a similar level to Penske or other big teams, it will always be considered a satellite team. It's even used like a typical satellite team. Roger Penske put Blaney there until he decided to bite the bullet and added a third car. Cindric was going to go through the same process until the 2 opened up. It's basically just a place where drivers sit and wait for a better ride. But I do wish Wood Brothers could find a long-term, great driver that puts them in a good spot, but I just think any good talent they get will just be taken by another team.

I'm inclined to think things are a lot more complicated over there than we realize. Harrison's record suggests that he should at least be hanging out in the middle of the field in fair to middling equipment, not consistently bringing up the rear.

I think the most telling part of Chase's quote is that Truex had a hard deadline to make a decision this year. Makes me think that maybe, possibly, he had some help making that decision. As far as Petree and RCR goes, that was a much needed change. I wouldn't be surprised if the 3 car opens up in a year or two and Austin moves up to a leadership role. He's not as awful as a driver as people think, but something tells me he'll be a lot better on top of a pit box.

Richard Childress didn't have a great career as a driver, but he excelled as a team owner. Maybe that's the key. Kick Dillon upstairs, put Gragson in the 8, and build the 3 team around Kyle Busch. I want to see Busch/RCR work out.

Personally I think Berry and Childers would be a better fit at RCR if they want to find speed in the cars. That information from Briscoe is very, very interesting. It seems to suggest that Harrison Burton is on thin ice after his dismal efforts in the 21 car, and that he and Dex Imaging aren't as safe as people thought they once were. All of this is pointing to a change in the 21's driver going forward. Now, who could that be?

I really do not understand how Keith Rodden got a promotion, as Eric stated, the dude gave Austin Dillon a season filled with a driver's worst nightmares. This is just another drop in the bucket of horrible decisions that will plague RCR for many years to come. This is completely off topic from NASCAR, but RCR reminds me a lot of modern tech companies. RCR and modern tech companies must be sharing the same water because the only people that seem to get promotions or even hired seem to be people that are not qualified for the position or have a horrible track record.

My guts say that Rodden as "interim" paves the way for ADillon to take this leadership for 2025 and retiring as full time Cup driver (he could still do crown jewel races in a 3rd car though). That's how I can see Gragson going to the #3/33 car and RCR not expanding next year (Austin Hill may well consider finding another ride soon by anger and despair).

Sounds bold but more I think of it, I say this out of respect for Alex Bowman too, I feel like Rick Hendrick and Jeff Gordon need to talk to the Wood Brothers and see if they wouldn’t take Alex Bowman and then put Noah Gragson in the 48. Now hear me out it’s a great move because I feel like Bowman’s at a point of his career he needs a change of scenery and to be part of a team that focuses solely on him not three other drivers. I mean think of it Bowman is essentially the Giannis Antetokounmpo on team with prime Kobe, Prime MJ, and Prime Labraun James if this was basketball. I think going to a one car operation like the Wood Brothers would elevate his stats and confidence more. Plus Noah Gragson would drive better since he’s now at Hendrick lol.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Junior Motorsports bought 51% of RCR .Junior and Kelly have both expressed that they don't want to start a cup team from scratch that they would rather buy into one. What more of a legacy with that be Earnhardt Childers racing . After all, RC is 78 years old, and I don't think Austin would get the team to be a championship contender. With Junior's popularity sponsorship would be no problem with Kelly's business sense and already running and XFinity team that would be a great positive with Jeff Gordon slowly taking over the reins at Hendrick that would lessen the strain between Junior and Rick.

Yes, totally agree. Put Gregson in the three and Richard Childress needs to retire because all he does is run his big mouth without thinking and just pisses people off for no good reason. He doesn't need the money anymore, heck he can go play with his winery or whatever else he has invested all his millions in.

Gragson won’t change the culture there, it starts with Richard. He is a very stubborn owner that is set in his ways. Nobody will be winning races there unless they make some serious investments to get on par with all the other teams. I can see Dale Jr becoming the part owner of RCR. He wants charters but he doesn’t want to pay the price. Maybe Dale can turn around RCR. He has done a top notch job with the xfinity team

Not sure how popular of a take this would be but RCR should swap the Austin(s). Dillon to xfinity in the 3 and Hill to cup in the 29 or 33. Dillon can be a good match-mentor with Love in the #2 car. This would be a similar move to what Sadler did. Hill would bring sponsors Bennett transportation\United Rentals to cup and with 5 pre-chase restrictor plate races he could have a good chance at securing a playoffs spot.

I don't understand why Trackhouse runs so much better than RCR when they share information. That isn't to say Trackhouse is running great, but RCR is embarrassing right now.

I think it just comes down to running the team, whereas RCR is very old school with their operation, Trackhouse has shown a modern understanding of running a team, although I am worried they might be spreading themselves thin with all these drivers in their stable

I don’t think we should expect bristle to come out and win 8 races and be the championship favorite but I think he is gonna need to win a couple races, at least one, and be a playoff favorite to make a feel run.

As a lifelong RCR fan, thirty plus years & going. It’s BEYOND time to clean house. I mean from top office positions, drivers down to the fella that sweeps the shops. Honestly, they should just run one full time cup team put all their eggs into that basket. Makes ZERO sense to add another team when the two you have are essentially “start & park” teams for past couple few seasons.
