If someone ever embodied the mantra “refuse to lose”, it’s strasburg. Coming back from tommy John and reinventing himself into a contact/punch out hybrid, the mold game vs the defending champion cubs facing elimination at wriggley, relief pitching vs the brewers, DOMINATING the Dodgers, Cardinals and most notably pitching all the way to the 9th with his back against the wall and fighting sign stealing vs the Astros. This man just had enough. He went to a zone ive never seen from a pitcher and I’m honored to have seen this man from his first outing in the nationals jersey. We’ve been telling you he’s always been this guy. you guys just chose to call the fastest pitcher to 1500ks an underachiever.

Strasberg/Scherzer are the Nats' answer to DeGrom/Syndegaaard, and Cole/Verlander - and 2019's postseason (even before the World Series) proved it. Even scarier, the two fed off each other in a way even Cole and Verlander didn't do.

He’s literally a HOF now. I don’t give a damn what anyone has to say. His numbers were on the tail end, being the youngest to ever reach 1500 Ks when we all know damn well the Nationals have pulled the rug from under him time and time again; from the Innings Limit that potentially cost them a trip to the NLCS, shutting him down when they realized they weren’t making any noise in the playoffs, etc. He’s also been injured, but when he’s pitching, he’s one of the best out there. To come out and dominate the postseason the way he did and he was indeed better than a game Schrerzer, etc. he’s gotta be a HOF now. We’ve never seen someone go from starting to relief and be this effective in a long time. This is what they envisioned drafting him. He was the top guy on this WS team.
@YoureNotReet2 жыл бұрын
I wish I could agree but even with all his accolades and accomplishments I don’t see him being a hof. Very impressive career but injuries have derailed any chances of that

@aaronjohnson87865 жыл бұрын
Hey, MLB... question for you. If Strasburg's postseason (up to now of course) qualifies as insane, then what does that make Gerrit Cole's? They're both 3-0, Strasburg has pitched 22 innings over 4 games, Cole has pitched 22.2 innings over 3 games. Strasburg has 33K's. Cole has 32Ks. But here's the kicker: Strasburg's 1.64 ERA is impressive yes. but Cole, if my math is correct, his post-season ERA is 0.40 That's not insane, that's inhuman. I'm not trying to take anything away from Strasburg, but damn..
