Tried this advice the last time I visited my sporting clays course and had a dramatic improvement in my score.

Absolute fantastic, thank you so much. I immediately recognized two problems I have had pointed out to me by others but did not know how to fix them - over looking the rib and barrel dip.

Wow. I've never had anyone explain it that simply and succinctly. Thanks. Now I need to get fit for a proper gun.

Mr. Currie, that is the perfect video presentation for my current level of shooting - D Class and hopefully moving up to C shortly. I have watched this video several times now and will put it to use tomorrow at a NSCA shoot. Sometimes the simple technics are the best in most things we do. Thank you for sharing this.

This was very helpful in helping understand why I'm always tilting my head too much. I've been mounting shoulder first then cheek.

Great piece of advice 👏👏I'm old now I used to shoot a lot when i was younger and i shot a lot better. Things started to go wrong and at one point it got so bad I was going to sell my guns. I have my moments but I'm not consistent this could be a big part of my problem thanks Don really appreciate your advice 🤙🏴

Where exactly on the cheek ledge? I feel two, one closer to my eye above my nostril and the second one between my ear and nose
@charliebecknell98305 жыл бұрын
I believe if you mount near your nostril you won't be lined up correctly. Practice your mount in front of a mirror. Eyes level, beads aligned with iris of the eye.

I am looking to buy a Vortex AMG UH-1 Huey holographic red dot on my shotgun. I'm told that this product will sit too high for a good check weld. As a novice shooter, this may be a dumb question but if the primary purpose of a good cheek weld is aligning sights with the target then is cheek weld still even relevant/important?

I can’t figure this out! Can someone please help me? My instructors, grandpa, and multiple videos, and I still do it wrong ahhhh!
@tarkov_gamer94749 жыл бұрын
If this is not done, will it lead to "cheek slap"?
@THUvidz9 жыл бұрын
+Brian Kavanagh Yes, It could, if you mount to the shoulder first you could easily duck your head down on the comb. With the cheekbone on the comb, there is a greater risk for "cheek slap" Plus lots of other problems. Don Currie is spot on here

So, we were taught to shoulder the gun, but we should really be cheeking the gun lol
@operation8289 жыл бұрын
Do no agree what he said in the video. It does not matter which way of how you mount the gun, ether to shoulder or cheek. He did say a good gun fit will help, but gun-fitting does not mean just the length-of-pull, also has a lot to do with comb hight. Once the stock properly fit to shooter's shooting habit, nothing would matter ether shoulder or cheek mount.
@THUvidz9 жыл бұрын
+operation828 Don't agree, If you mount to the shoulder first, you are more exposed to get your head in a wrong position making contact with the comb
@operation8289 жыл бұрын
THUvidz It is all personal preference. Now I understand more. Sorry about disagree with the video.
