Native Fashion Show, Celebration 2016

Sealaska Heritage Institute's inaugural Native Fashion Show was held during Celebration 2016, on June 10 in the clan house at the Walter Soboleff Building, The show featured contemporary fashions by nearly 20 designers from across the state representing numerous Alaska Native cultures.

And? Has it been annual since? In my eyes this is the most beautiful art of the world. We need more of it. With all its meaning, tradition, and beauty. I envy anyone who is fortunate enough to live close to or in between northwest coast artists.

The fashion show occurs during Celebration, which is a festival of Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian cultures that occurs every two years.
