Looks great Brudda. As you know, I am using your adventures as learning experience for my future purchase. I have talked to my wife about getting kayaks for the Gulf of Mexico (barrier island adventures) but she is apprehensive. Do they make the Native Ultimate in a 2-man config at all?

Yes, they do make a longer tandem but I wouldn't recommend it based on my experience. First time out, my Wifey wanted her own boat and yours may do the same. I took this boat out last week and I love it.

+Allyn Hane Pick a sit on top if you're planning on fiddling around along the barrier islands. And, after you have selected your SOT, practice falling out and getting back into your boat before you decide to go to deep water with it. There is a trick to getting back on a SOT and choppy or rough water in the Gulf ain't the place to try to learn it.

A really a nice looking craft but is this a kayak or canoe? How's the stability for standing up?

+Alan Skyy It's both, I consider these type yaks as hybrids. You can stand and it's pretty stable because it's wide. However, I do not stand very much when I'm in a yak generally.

I bought the 1st year they arrived... $750 and same color and nearly like his. Add a trolling motor hardware outfit for about $30 and get a 30# motor and small battery. It's all you need to fish with a motor all day long on a charge. With no motor, the most stable and comfortable small boat and will NOT turn over. That matters in cold water or a moderate moving rocky river with tree debris under the surface.

You know, I really love this kayak but I haven't paddled her in a year if you can believe it. She just made a trip to stay at my son's home so I will have it when we do some river fishing this year. She will guest star in some videos this summer for sure.

That's a nice kayak I don't think the FX was out when I bought my Ultimate12 Basic or I would have probably bought this one. lol Only thing is my wife and I bought ours at the same so price was a big issue for me. Native's are kinda proud of their products. But, I do love them.
