That is still amazing. I think nobody is expecting that the reconstruction from 1080p has no cost. People who uses this is not expecting to uqve same performance than a native 1080p. They want better performance than at native 4k with most of the same image quality. People who play at 4k knows what they are doing

I think it could be interesting to compare something like 1080p DLAA with 1440p DLSS. Also, even if it is not the focus of the video, it would be nice to see the fps counter at all times to roughly compare, at least on the videos. P.S.: Surprised how well 1080p holds up in Spiderman. Doesn't look bad at all.

are you aware about the dldsr feature of in the nvidia control panel? with it we can make a 1440p panel as 4k and use this 4k performance mode on a 1440p display, but im wondering which will win in this scenario as the dldsr isnt as good as a physical display with 4k resolution . try making a video comparing dldsr with native 1080p or 1440p displays

I was wondering if you'd try dlss tweaks and start comparing custom input resolutions. I had the idea of, since 1440p quality is 960p input resolution. Maybe you could try the same 960p to 4K, and see if it's worth it over the 1080p input (the fps gain and if the fidelity loss is not much). Especially with the newest DLL and Preset E. Or if a game isn't that taxing until 4K DLAA, I do 0.90 input resolution. Looks to my eye basically the same as DLAA, but a decent FPS bump.

Nice vid. Just judging by image quality 4k is the way to go, however there is still the matter of costs and framerate, as high framerate 4k monitors are kinda expensive. People gaming on a budget typically go for 1440p or 1080p even.

The prices have fallen down quite a lot recently, I've seen some 4K monitors with 144hz and even 240hz refresh rates for 450.500 which is starting to resemble high refresh rate 1440p prices.

He is showing zoomed in images, depending on how big your tv is you might not see a big difference, also the gaming experience won't change that much thats why some people say it. I'm pro any kind of progress, even with the playstation pro(which some see as useless). So the gaming experience might nog change, getting everything ready for 4k is the next step in gaming it helps the gaming industry.

Was already subbed. :D Another good idea, maybe even better (IMHO) might be to compare image quality and performance between DLSS and FSR, in a way that DLSS balanced/performance sometimes gives better image than FSR quality. That is an actual, huge FPS boost in favor of nvidia, when you need that extra bit of power the most. Haven't seen other youtubers do that kind of comparison. Might be nice to see. Cheers.

Well is hard to say, what does it mean to have a texture at 4K to be honest? does every textures need to be that high? what about VRAM usage then? is not so simple.

In case your screenshots are different resolutions in iCAT next to the image or video you have a cogwheel to "resize" the image and make both the same size

@andreknox6132 no by using dldsr or dsr you will record at your native resolution because the final image is downsampled to whatever is your output and there is no point on recording at 1080p and then blowing the image at 4k

More pixels always win, in 1080p we have 2.073.600 pixels. in 1440p we have 3.686.400 and in 4k we have 8.294.400 pixels, only problem is the cash we need to have a 4k monitor with at least more than 85hz and minimum 32´´ to have a very good experience, not just the 60fps, thats around 500 bucks, a good gpu even with upscaling tech in 4k we need power from the gpu, minimum 700 for 4k dlss/fsr 70-80 fps on heavy games, but if you are not from "south america" like me its worth to play at 4k, the quality is amazing.

More pixels isn't always better, some people are satisfied with 1440p, some are satisfied with 1080p.

@@andresreacher8790 I'm satisfied with my 32inch 1440p monitor. It produces an image that is clearly more than 1080p, so that is enough for me. My brother has a 4k monitor at the same size, and the difference is there but not as much as 1080p to 1440p. He even though my monitor was 4k when I first got it and he used it. As a lot of games render on console at 1440p anyway, they can look better on my monitor as it's native resolution.

Dude, you are honestly just hanging on what you can now, now is camera movement when normally everything is very blurry anyway, with ghosty lcd panels that doesn't have the best of motion clarity? Your eyes will not be able to see any big difference during fast paced or camera movements anyway with or without dlss. And no, you didn't meant that, you specifically said "analyzed through motion" there is motion examples, full of trees, particles and other objects moving, but now is not enough.

Not really, for competitive gaming you'll need a beefy GPU to max out a 4K monitor's high refresh rate with enough headroom to avoid stutters.
