This video is a funny "review" of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Episodes Five, Six, and Seven, which were titled Partings, Udun, and The Eye, respectively.
This channel, Nativebirds, specializes in offbeat and high-effort videos about movies. Right now I am doing a TV show, though. With only one episode of The Rings of Power left, one has to ask: what next distraction will maintain my faltering sense of meaning? Oh shoot wait God of War Ragnarok comes out next month. Okay I’m good.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is an American fantasy television series based on the novel The Lord of the Rings and its appendices by J. R. R. Tolkien. Developed for the Prime Video, the series is set in the Second Age of Middle-earth, thousands of years before Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. It is produced by Amazon Studios in cooperation with HarperCollins and New Line Cinema, and in consultation with the Tolkien Estate. I heard earlier this week that Netflix wanted to do an MCU approach with the Tolkien material. It's important to keep in mind that we could have always had it much, much, much worse.

The absolute mind blowing thing for me, was that when Elrond starts to explain that he has been tricked by the elves, he phrases it in the worst possible way. Trying to MAXIMIZE the chance that Durin will misunderstand, and start a dumb arc of "Elrond betrayed me >:^(". But Durin is too strong for their shitty writing and understands Elrond's poorly written speech. Just another notch on the Dwarves being the pinnacle of the show.

@@CorePathway imagine if it was a female wizard, they would have justified her feelings and intention with reasons nobody knows. I'm a female but even I couldn't stand the constant male bashing in recent Hollywood movies. Like, do you really need to dumb down the male characters just to make the female ones look kinder or smarter or fiercer??! That's not progress and it's just bad Storytelling overall.

@@coffeemug3009Yes agreed! If I'm not mistaken, the only 2 characters cried on screen are Isildur and his father, Elendil. Women aren't allowed to cry anymore on RoP. 😥 Lady healer got shot with an arrow but bounced back like nothing happened, walked miles, and hugged Theo like the cauterization didn't happen. And Galadriel, come on... A millenia old commander elf faces the might of the volcano fire and ashes? But why? She's not a wizard yet, and no wizardry voices in her head telling her to do so.

They straight up stole the "magic crystal addiction" squeeze from the Blood Elves in Warcraft. Which is so ironic considering that the Blood Elves were a dark subersion of the Tolkien Elves. This is more surreal than Game of Thrones ripping off the Ice Zombie Dragon from the Wrath of the Lich King trailer.

Hilarious, intelligent and truly inspired intro 10/10. That said I couldn't bring myself to like the video as my main opposition to the show is the bastardisation of Tolkien's lore, not whether this PoS show is bearable to watch for 30 mins of content, in a way ep 6&7 are the worst so far as they're the least sensible and lore consistent. The less that this is praised the more likely amazon and others are to make a REAL series that doesn't contradict its own source material... Did sub though lol
