NATO Chief Urges Use Of Western Weapons To Hit Russia | Moscow Slams Ukraine Peace Summit As “Scam”

NATO members should ease their prohibitions on using weapons they supply to Ukraine to strike military targets in Russia, said the NATO chief. If Ukraine is denied the right to hit Russian military targets, it makes it hard for the country to defend itself, Jens Stoltenberg added
Stoltenberg didn’t refer specifically to any NATO member in his comments. However, the US and Germany were among the countries reluctant to allow their weaponry to strike targets within Russia.
Kyiv pressed allies to give permission to use weapons systems provided to Ukraine to strike targets inside Russian territory.

The problem of Ukraine using NATO weapons inside Russia is not so much that Russia will go to war against NATO, but that the Russian response will be severe, and it could take the form of heavier strikes inside Ukraine. Regarding the "Peace Summit", Putin has already said that he won't accept an ultimatum presented by the countries who attend, mainly because Russia was not invited. This type of "Peace Summit" would have made sense if Ukraine had succeeded in turning the tide of the conflict. If Ukraine had won, Kyiv and its Allies could have imposed a Versailles-style peace on Russia, but this is not what happened. The counteroffensive failed, all the lands liberated by Ukraine were occupied again by Russia, and Russia was also able to open a new front. Until Ukraine gets real and acknowledges that the only possible peace is a negotiated one where Russia's security interests are taken into account, the war will go on.

I have not seen or heard Russia make nuclear threats against "the West", but I have heard him warn NATO and allies that Russia has nuclear weapons and will use them if it is attacked by nuclear weapons.
