I believe that NATO allowed these former Warsaw pact nations to give them a chance on the world stage and give them the support they deserved. After all those years of abuse by the communist governments they needed some allies to like up to!

Romania is building the largest NATO military base in Europe to date - the Mihai Kogalniceanu base will be about twice the size of the German Ramstein base, the cost is estimated at 2.5 billion euros. According to the newspaper "The Times", construction work is already in full swing. The project will be located on an area of 2.8 thousand hectares. The base will accommodate up to 10,000 NATO soldiers and their families. The complex will include runways, hangars, schools, shops and a hospital.

If you think the combat effectiveness of the Russian military forces is already very poor, then the combat effectiveness of the Chinese military forces is not as good as that of the Russian. It will only be worse because China's fraud is worse than Russia's.This is why Xi Jinping still dares not launch a war against Taiwan. Although its navy seems to be making great progress recently, it is only an increase in tonnage rather than an improvement in core technology. The most typical example is that the development of its nuclear submarines is very unsuccessful when Occident countries are strictly preventing nuclear reactor technology from being stolen by China. Once a war breaks out between the Occident and China, China's fatal pain point is neither Beijing nor Shanghai but Tianjin, which has been deliberately ignored by CCP. However the Anglo-Chinese War, Anglo-French expedition to China, and Siege of the International Legations all confirm the importance of Tianjin except Japanese-Chinese Wars.Tianjin is the closest coastal city to Beijing, the core area of China's feudal autocratic empire. It is only more than 100 kilometers away. All along the way are flat plains, which is very convenient for large-scale troop marches. The distance from South Korea's Yellow Sea to Tianjin is also very close. Just as the Emperor of the Qing Empire and the Empress Dowager Cixi only cared about the Forbidden City during the war and did not really care about the southeastern coastal areas of the Qing Empire, the core power class of the Chinese Communist Party will also only care about Zhongnanhai during the war and do not mind being sacrificed of southern China or the China's central and western regions, although it has always verbally emphasized the need to safeguard so-called national interests. The historical Tonkin War, the French failed to win the war against the Qing Empire, also gives the lesson that victory alone in the southern coastal areas of China is not enough to make the Chinese rulers feel a real crisis.
