Fairy tail gets a lot of hate for "the power of friendship" thing... But I love it because this show doesn't have one main character the guild itself is the main character. And the levels of hype felt for the members overcoming these things is amazing. Fairy tail is the master of hype and sends the simple message of feeling like you yourself are a part of this group.

The one thing that I didnt like about fairy tail was how they built up tragic or hopeless moments but they never stuck, all their problems seem to be solved by a deus ex machina, and half the time it isnt even friendship its just something random (the Gray thing, the Wendy thing, etc.)

And the fact that Mashima have so much build up to the fact that all guilds have gotten a lot stronger after 7 years, and that Fairy tail was supposed to be the underdogs in the tournament, but what happen? He just made Fairy tail casually humiliated everyone in the tournament and get all the glory... This arc just piss me off. Fairy Tail should have struggled and they should have been pushed to their limits. I don't have a problem of them winning the GMG, but it should have felt earned. Unfortunately it didn't.

You can make the case that Natsu was able beat them bc of his 2nd origin power up but he only got it bc I guess That Mishima wanted to make a gag and have them slack off from their training and wanted them to get a power up to catch up to the competition. I feel like he should have just let them train instead of using the 2nd origin as the excuse of FT winning at this point in the grand magic games. Honestly, after this fight I wanted Fairy Tail to lose for the sake of the plot 🤣🤣🤣 Even though I didn't like this fight it wasn't the worst moment in the arc for me (THAT moment has yet to come if you know what I mean)

@@tunderdiamant8651 nah the power scaling is consistent Cana hitting 9999 and breaking the meter Laxus winning a 5 v 1 without a scratch against a guild master Erza fighting 100 monsters, when the organizers intended to have enough monsters for all teams Erza taking out kagura and Minerva one after the other Laxus beating wizard Saint Jura, orga hit 3800 on powerfinder, Jura hit like 8500 It was obvious that natsu and gajeel were on a whole nother level. If you hate this fight and think it's bullshit then you didn't understand it. Natsu and Gajeel knew that they didn't stand a chance and were just pretending to be hurt to not humiliate them too bad. Then sting tries to 2 v 1 them to humiliate them, and this pisses of natsu so he decides to flex by 2 v 1ing them right back.

This episode aired on March 22, 2013 when I was cycling to my neighboring town where there is a swimming pool. The corresponding manga chapter, which is processed here, was published on August 17, 2012. On that day I rode my bike to another neighboring town where you could eat ice cream. On August 17, 2012 I had my music teacher for the first time, who I also had on March 22, 2013. So on March 22, 2013 when the episode aired, I think back to August 17, 2012 when the associated manga chapter came out and I was also riding my bike and the school year had just started. As much as I liked this fight, it also thought me that power scaling in Fairytail is nonsense.

Well for Natsu and Erza the power scaling is pretty much redundant due to their plot armor, But for other characters like Lucy and Gray and Wendy who have like no plot armor at all, the fights are actually realistic and the power scaling is always in play.

I've seen this fight get a lot of criticism, some of it fair, but no matter what anyone says, Natsu spelling out "Come On" with his flames, and then letting them flare up into the Fairy Tail logo, will forever be one of the rawest scenes in Anime.

Yeah that was the initial end of the first constant set of episodes in the anime, they took like a year off before it returned from this point.
