When I was in Japan in the 90‘s it was said that 50% of the Japanese population doesn’t like but the other 50% loves it. Thank you very much for sharing your interesting video with us.

Hi there! Thanks so much for your kind words. Yes, Natto seems to be one of those things you either love or hate. Perhaps it’s bit like blue cheese. Luckily, I’m a big fan and I actually eat it several times a week.😋

I've tried it three times now, they come in a pack, and the taste has grown on me. On their own - they're pretty bitter, the oil is very nice - but I hate the mustard. I've been adding Soya sauce as well. I hope they are as 'healthy' as everyone is claiming.
@KonbiniJapan

Hi there, Jason! Yes, they come in those handy little packs of three. The mustard is pretty strong, but I find that if you mix it well into the beans it gives a nice little kick. People swear by them for their health benefits, and although I've never actually felt any particular 'effects,' I think it's kind of an ongoing thing that makes you healthier over time. Cheers for taking the time to comment!😋

Hi there! Thanks so much for watching.Yes, it goes really well with any kind of alcohol really. One of my favorite recipes is in an omelet with cheese - easy to make and goes great with beer.🍺

To me it’s a bit of a dark coffee smell/flavor . The kids and I love it tho (took me 2-3 times to enjoy it). Radish or plum are my favorite sauce flavors . Just got yuzu flavor I’m excited to try 👍

Hi there, Colleen! Thanks so much for watching. It takes a few tries to get used to it, but after that you get kind of hooked. Those sauces you mentioned sound really good and on top of all that, it's so healthy. I also like to use natto as a topping for my Japanese-style curry and rice, which is surprisingly tasty.😋

Hi there! It's actually quite tasty once you get used to the the smell and the sliminess. The flavor itself definitely grows on you, but I must admit it all looks a bit daunting seeing it for the first time. Give it a try, if you have the chance!😉

it has a little smell of coffee… if you got bad smell, that may be contaminated. Natto is good for people with high cholesterol.

Grow your own natto, it even can be grown on a loose lentil puree or whatever. Boul some in a pot and clingerap the top of the pot and place it warm. Done
@KonbiniJapan
@KonbiniJapan 7 ай бұрын
Hi there! That's a really good idea. I know some people who make their own here in Japan, but it's usually using a special machine which I think can also be used to make yoghurt.😋

Many people hate the smell of natto but the smell comes from the packaging that is why they have からし the yellow spicy paste to weaken the smell . Natto straight from straw wouldn’t have the smell. Nice vid btw

Hello there! Ah yes, good old natto straight from the straw actually tastes the best. It's pretty hard to come by unless I find some in a local road station or souvenir shops near me. Thanks so much for the kind words!😋

it's not the taste. the taste just smells and tastes like miso or korean denjang... but it's the LUBRICATION! i just can't handle the sliminess! i really wish there was like a version with more friction lol.

Nothing tastes like Japanese eggs. The eggs in Kentucky do not taste as great, no matter the quality or brand. If they're eggs are oranges, ours are all grapefuits. That is the best I could describe it.
@KonbiniJapan
@KonbiniJapan 7 ай бұрын
Hi there! Thanks so much for watching. Yes, there's a lot to be said for the quality of the eggs in Japan. I come from Scotland and whenever I go back home, I certainly notice the difference. The eggs in Japan have a deeper, richer flavor and the color of the yolk also seems much more appealing. I know a guy who is a researcher at a poultry feed company here in Japan and he says each food manufacturer requests a special recipe for their particular chickens. Apparently it even differs depending on how the eggs are going to be cooked. They also have different feed for the chickens that are going to be eaten as meat. Apparently they add herbs, tea leaves etc. to produce the desired results. Cheers for now!😋

This is so true. So many Japanese recipes call for you to just drop an egg yolk in and I never understood why. Up until I tried Japanese eggs. Let me say this, the best carbonarra is Japanese. Even their pork is juicy.

Hi there! Carbonara in Japan is always so creamy and rich - thanks to the addition of the amazing eggs. I'm not too sure how it compares to the authentic Italian version, but it always hits the spot with me.😋
