Hola Mrs. Ramos! I love everything about this look! I deal with hyperthyroidism. I told my doctor I felt like I have more hypothyroidism symptoms. I have only gained weight...never lost any weight. I lost so much hair a year ago after I had COVID-19. I lost enough hair to make a full wig. My curly hair is deceivingly full but I just noticed that my scalp shows in the rear top. I don't have layers and so the weight of my curls really exposes the hair loss. I have a tighter curl pattern that is looser up front and shrinks the same way in the lower section in the back. Please share what you are doing to regrow your hair and lessen hair loss. I was massaging my scalp while watching this video 😊 I am all about the skin care. I've never learned how to use makeup. That's how I found you a few years ago. Trying to figure out how to apply makeup!❤ The bonus was everything else...curly, natural, children, etc. Gracias por todos! ❤🤗

I was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism as well. I’ve been trying to get pregnant and I saw a fertility specialist who ran blood work during my cycle. I started taking a lose does hormone and notice my cycle is a little heavier which I’m happy because I had a very light cycle. Thank you for sharing and being transparent. I struggle with finding KZbinrs who are open and not afraid of sharing. Being vulnerable isn’t easy but you sure make it looks so humbling. ❤ your absolutely beautiful, may avid continue blessing your union and family❤

Hey! Thank you for sharing that and showing love. Honestly I only found out less than 2 years ago and didn’t know how to go about it so I’m still in early stages of figuring it out myself. But for sure when I find what truly works for me I’ll be sharing more. My biggest issue right now is the weight gain control. But I’m thankful I got the hairloss under control because dealing with hairloss and weight gain and breakage all at once was so depressing. My hypothyroidism was triggered by my 2nd pregnancy/birth in 2018 but I didn’t know I was affected by it until 2021 after I was tested. I thought I was having extra long severe post-partum symptoms but obviously it was way more than that.

Hey! I love your videos. If I could make a suggestion as someone whose gone to school for cosmetology-- I would recommend cutting "body" into the hair for growth. Cutting body and/or some long round layers (would be a square cut to achieve that look for curly hair) would allow the hair to grow and retain length better. For my own 3C hair I typically end up cutting the nape hair shorter and trimming it every 6-8 weeks or so as it experiences the most friction and is exposed to the fabrics in my clothing a lot more than the rest of my hair. I hope this helps! Either way, I wish you the best and look forward to seeing how your hair and health journey progresses

So I remind myself constantly that I’ve been alive for 35 years and it’s ok to look my age. 35 isn’t old my adult life has only just started. My 20’s were my most immature stage as my intro into adulthood. 😊

Do you mind elaborating more on your diagnosis and how you were able to stabilize. For many years I thought I also was having a hormonal disruption since having my second child ( also a beautiful girl) after having her my gained weight , saw the fragility in my hair and nails. Every time I went for my physical it always came back that my thyroid was working normal. After many years and seeing my hair texture permanently change I finally found a dr that helped me get back in track health wise and slowly seeing my hair recover with less shedding and new growth. My hair is currently very fine and I also have the back section being more 3c so I have that same weird dry shape. I always appreciate you sharing your new techniques.
@Mrs.AlbaRamos Жыл бұрын
One thing that was eye opening for me was that usually with these test being done in a doctor lab they just tell you your levels are normal because your levels aren’t low enough to be officially diagnosed with a thyroid issue or autoimmune issue but… they won’t tell you what scale you’re currently in to prevent your levels going too low or too high before you reach that point of officially being diagnosed. Basically, if you are at the lowest point in the “normal range” you are at risk of eventually having hypothyroidism in the near future but they won’t tell you that because you still tested in the normal rage. And if you are at the highest point of your levels being in the normal range they don’t tell you or show you that because you are close to being hyper-thyroididm which later can be prescribed for medication that their medical system is designed to prioritize. It’s all with the intention of eventually getting you into some type of pharmaceutical medication vs helping you prevent the issue before you get there. So… I saw my symptoms and got a test done by EverlyWell kit which takes blood + spit through several days/weeks of data collected at home and send back to their lab and I receive my test results explained in plain English in my personal account and email so I always have access to it vs a doctor whom you have to visit to get an explanation (and they won’t tell you everything in plain English). So through this test I can see not only how low or normal I am in the range but continuing testing myself in order to see if my natural lifestyle changes are improving or worsening my test scores levels.

😊 gracias paisana! I don’t take any medication I’m just taking all the natural things my body needs to manage the hormone and rebalance my hormones. I stopped drinking coffee (because my adrenals were fatigued from years of coffee daily which lowered my hormone levels) I also take sea moss + iodine daily. I also take copper at night after dinner daily and trying to stay on top of daily morning sun exposure (which helps with natural absorption of vitamin-d which is a hormone not a vitamin) and I also do red light therapy and take selenium. ✅ all of these lifestyle changes have helped a lot with my symptoms and levels instead of making my body dependent on thyroid meds which don’t create a long term benefit that targets the source of the problem. The meds only band-aid the symptoms in my opinion.

I’ve had hypothyroidism since the age of 11. I’m 30 now. My hair is always falling out & breaking 😩
@BKnightwriter85 Жыл бұрын
What did you use to help the hair fall out?
@Mrs.AlbaRamos Жыл бұрын
Well being that 99% of the time hormones are the cause of excessive hair-loss, I had to addressy hormone levels by making lifestyle changes along with taking what my body lacks to feel balanced. This is why I have hypothyroidism and the symptoms of hair-loss and breakage worsen if I don’t address my hormone issues. Hypothyroidism means my thyroid is weak and is fatigued. So its an under-functioning thyroid which affects my metabolism, weight gain, hair loss, energy levels/fatigue and sleep. I take selenium, iodine and sea moss daily as well as get daily morning sun light (which helps with absorption of vit d- which is a hormone not a vitamin) I also do red light therapy and take copper every night after dinner. I also stopped drinking coffee which fatigues the thyroid and depletes the body of b vitamins and minerals. I also take collagen and beef gelatin as often as possible in drinks or smoothies. It’s not just one thing that helps but ALL OF IT together to address thyroid and hormones that stopped my excessive hairloss and lessened my breakage.
@BKnightwriter85 Жыл бұрын
@@Mrs.AlbaRamos Thank you for sharing the information! Im actually getting my thyroid tested b/c I'm experiencing these same issues and an hormonal imbalance due to PMDD. The hair fall is crazy. Hi! what do you think attributed for this diganosis since you have been living and eating so clean for so many years, im having similar symptoms and have been living a mostly clean lifestyle.
@Mrs.AlbaRamos Жыл бұрын
I have been a coffee drinker for over 10 years straight and my doctor told me many years ago my adrenals are fatigued and that I need to prioritize sleep and quit caffeine - unfortunately I didn’t make the adjustment sooner and having my 2nd child at 30 triggered my hormones during post partum to lower even more and therefore my thyroid was affected. So obviously I stopped coffee (over 4 years ago now) and have made lifestyle changed like getting more morning sun exposure and red light therapy as well as taking selenium and copper daily as well as getting better sleep to help with the lifestyle changes that impact hormone levels. The thyroid can still be affected even if you eat clean and avoid meds and take supplements like I’ve been doing for over 8 years. My conscience lifestyle didn’t specially prevent my hormones from catching up to me during pregnancy at 30 and all my years of fatigued adrenals due to coffee. I drank organic re-mineralized coffee and it still affected me severely. I don’t drink alcohol (ever) and I’ve never smoked and while these are some things that also affect the thyroid I never did it and I was still affected hormonally.

Hi Alba... thanks for the video... My hair has grown alot and I noticed that my pattern is changing. I am wondering if the length is weighing it down to the point where my curls are becoming waves??? Does that even happen? So confused!!! Does anyone have input? Thanks...

Yes longer hair can result in less defined curls. I had booty length hair from age 4-16 and my curl pattern was certainly looser because long hair weighs down curls especially if you don’t have your length layered and styled with volume.

Hey people. I'm 17. I've also been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. It's been really bad for me. I have really low levels of oxygen and sometimes it's like the back of my throat is heavy or numb..or like it doesn't work..and swallowing feels weird... Is it common to feel like that with this illness?

Thanks for sharing that. I personally don’t not feel anything directly different in my throat or anything physical feeling. What I do experience is just symptoms that I can compare from now to how I use to feel. On a bad day/week I’d get symptoms like extreme fatigue (tired and low energy) even when I got enough sleep. Also excessive hairl oss without even touching or brushing my hair and more hair breakage than usual even while I’m taking consistent care of my hair as well as weight gain even when my diet is the same and lastly it takes much more effort to lose weight than it ever did before. This is my own personal experience so it doesn’t mean your experience isn’t normal it just varies at different levels.

@@Mrs.AlbaRamos Definitely the fatigue is there. Thank you too, for sharing your experience.

I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease when I was 15 and had surgery to remove my thyroid. was placed on levothyroxine which then has led me to by hypo ever since. my hair used to be down my back. with the clumps of hair that have fallen into the shower, it’s led to severe thinning. I’ve cut it into a bob since 🥲 haven’t had an issue with weight gain, mainly cause I don’t really eat. I’m depressed cause of my hair. so many factors can play into in as well. it’s very challenging figuring out what is the cause of what sometimes.

Girl. if you already do shorts. why dont you just post your videos on tiktok? you already have the content

Because 1. that requires me to download TikTok, make an account and upload on another platform on top of already taking time to upload on KZbin and Instagram 2. Having all these platforms on my phone and taking time to upload on them also comes with the high chance of being distracted and procrastinating in my daily life. 3. I don’t want to feel trapped scrolling for hours on tik-tok, or Instagram or KZbin. It’s ok to do it a little and practice self control but I had tik tok for one month only and felt that it was way more difficult to set boundaries on tik tok than it is on KZbin + IG so I had to make the choice to delete it and focus on putting content on platforms like KZbin and IG that I’m already more in control of and use to. 4. I also notice TikTok is owned by China and in China it’s used as an educational tool but in America it’s mostly used for trends and addictive content that leads to more bad influences than good so it’s just another reason to avoid it.
