Very beautiful. Is cucumber smell very present after mixing it up with lye
@m3artisansoapery79222 күн бұрын
Absolutely! It’s a multi-layered fragrance that changes after going through the Saponification process, but still smells amazing.

I use an electric blanket to force the “gel” phase of saponification. It’s a more controlled process than just leaving it to the ambient conditions.

Thanks so much for this video. My question is won't the hotness of the caustic soda kill all the benefits of the juice?
@m3artisansoapery7925 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. There is a certain loss during saponification, but it doesn’t eliminate the benefits.

I can do one better. The inspiration came from this book The Big Book of Homemade Products for Your Skin, Health and Home: Easy, All-Natural DIY Projects Using Herbs, Flowers and Other Plants a.co/d/0EiTGmF with a few tweaks to make it my own. I hope you enjoy it. It’s a great resource book if you like natural body products.

Advantage of that clay plz

There’s a full breakdown in the description box, but here’s the Cliffnotes KAOLIN CLAY absorbs sebum and prevents pore clogging. It's used to draw out impurities and toxins from the pores. It then helps to clear the skin of excess oil, dirt, and pollution without causing any redness or irritation.

My recipe is formulated for an 8 pound batch of soap, which probably isn’t realistic for most people. There’s a complete list of ingredients in the description box. How much of each is up to you. You can plug them into www.soapcalc.net to get the lye ratios.

If you’re asking what brand I use, I buy a bulk brand from Costco. Nothing special, but definitely not extra virgin olive oil. Thanks for your question. 👍🏻
