Soap Making Tutorial for Beginners - Full Demonstration - Peppermint Soap
Ingredients:

Avocado Oil 鳄梨油 85.7g
Sweet Almond Oil 甜杏仁油 100g
Coconut Oil 椰子油 143g
Palm Oil 棕榈油 143g
Jojoba Oil 荷荷巴油 28.5g
Blended Peppermint Ice Cube 薄荷汁冰块 142.6g
NaOH 71.3g
Peppermint & Lavender Essential Oil 薄荷和薰衣草精油

Caution:
ALWAYS PROTECT YOUR SKIN AND EYES WHEN MAKING SOAP.
1) It is recommended to use ice cube to cold down the temperature of liquid, to prevent overheat when mix the soybean and RO water with Lye.
2) It is a must to wear hand glove to prevent skin burning cause by NaOH.
3) Wear goggle to protect your eyes.
STEPS:
1) Measure each types of oil according to the formula, stir evenly and put aside, if you would like to change types of oil and weight, make sure you recalculate the formula.
2) Measure the weight of ice cube and put aside.
3) Measure suitable amount of NaOH according to the formula and put aside.
4) Let i = oil, j = ice cube, k=NaOH
Prepare 3 stainless steel containers, put in i, j, k according to the formula.
5) Dissolve Sodium Hydroxide. Pour item k into item j, little by little do not pour the whole cup by once to prevent overheating. NaOH is corrosive, must wear hand glove and eye goggle. Do not pour water into Lye.
6) Stir evenly until j is melted, measure temperature of i and j.
While temperature of i & temperature of j less than = 30'C and Temperature interval less than= 10, mix i with j.
Use a strainer to prevent unmelt solid Sodium Hydroxide from falling into oil.
7) Stir evenly until light trace, you can utilize a stick blender to enhance the emulsification process.
8) Pour the soap into mold and store into a polystyrene box for better temperature control, wait for 24 hours before unmold and soap cutting.
9) After 24 hours, unmold and cut the soap, store in a cold and dry place for 45 days evaporation of water before using.

This came out nice. I have a lot of mint in the yard only because the animals do not like mint. Otherwise it would be gone like all my other plants. I thought your soap was going to come out brown in color at first. Beautiful olive drab color.

Thank you. After you blend the mint leave into juice, you can dry the remaining of the leaves under the hot sun for one day, and use it as mint powder to blend together with oils in order to generate beautiful green color.

Great suggestion! The formula is as written in description: In this case Peppermint Ice Cube is 2X amount of NaOH. Therefore Blended Peppermint Ice Cube is 142.6g. The amount of Peppermint Leave are random, just to generate the natural green color of the soap, you can add in some R.O water to the leave before blending, anyway in this case I use pure Peppermint Leave juice to generate the beautiful green color. The color will slowly faded after curing, Store in a cold and dry place to keep the natural color, avoid direct expose to sunlight.
