I Just wanted to update that the challenge was somewhat successful for me. I grew the normal amount of 0.5 inches of hair growth/month in most areas of my hair when I lately have been growing less than 0.5 inches a month or less. Surprisingly, I grew 2 inches in the front of my hair (which the front of my hair usually grows normally anyways) but lately my hair has been growing slow until I decided to take vitamins, eat healthy food choices 90% of the time, exercise and implement some of the techniques you've suggested in your videos while washing my hair. I say somewhat successful because the right side near my edges did not grow longer and the right back side of my hair grew but at a slower rate than the rest of my hair. So my success rate was about an estimated 80%.
@evelynmoore46403 жыл бұрын
Also I don't want to forget about God. I spent more time with him than I usually do so it was a factor into why my hair grew normally and slightly faster in some areas of my head than the past few months.

I have accepted the fact that as much as I try, I am never going to have waist length hair. It is clear that you can cut your hair several times a year, and your hair will always grow to waist length. I have accepted the fact that while regimen and good products play a role in length retention, genetics also plays a role.
@bonitajea3 жыл бұрын
If you would like to wash all the chemicals out your hair. Wash your hair with baking soda to get back your natural hair. Then use petroleum jelly on your hair from roots to ends to retain length. This works for all hair types. I do this. 💚 For more information about using baking soda and petroleum jelly, there's more videos on KZbin that discusses their benefits and how to wash your hair with baking soda successfully. If you prefer straight hair and you have naturally curly hair, try a silk press instead of relaxers or perms. 💚
@MelissaDenise3 жыл бұрын
My hair has not be waist length for at least 2 yrs! Do genetics play a factor in just about everything? Absolutely! Anyone who wants waist length hair has to focus heavy on retention…including me! Figuring out the “perfect” formula to holding onto your length is not always the easiest. The times that I’ve had my hair super long I was so strict with my regiment…the sec I get a little lazy I have to bust out the scissors. Thanks for watching my video Belinda! Hope to have you apart of the challenge!
@verejey553 жыл бұрын
@@MelissaDenise this is so true. I have become a little lazy myself and my hair is not growing/ retaining length as much. I know because I use a hair dye and I don’t see much growth on my roots. I only colour once a year, just so I can see the growth

I’m super late but I just restarted my natural hair journey. No more perks for me or heats at all. I already got me a shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, and leave in conditioner. I got an hair growth oil and some hair growth supplements as well. I’m happy for this journey I’m starting off again. I was natural for 4 years but I went and got a perm then I never was moisturizing my scalp at all, that’s the key is moisture plus stop manipulating your hair. I braid my hair down and normally leave a head band wig on top of it. I notice after a month of this my hair has grown. I don’t wash my hair 2-3x a week anymore as well because it’s not good. Thanks so much, one day my hair will be like this. I’m doing this routine for the next 2-3 years because I a want full, moisturizing, and long healthy head of hair.

Have faith in JESUS CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOR for HE SAVES ❗️ *What is the Gospel?* The true gospel is the good news that God saves sinners. Man is by nature sinful and separated from God with no hope of remedying that situation. But God, by His power, provided the means of man’s redemption in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of GOD, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Romans 10:9 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. JESUS CHRIST can come anytime! Just Believe ❤️ Love you and GOD BLESS

10:12 your not using a styler during the week? Just wash conditioner and then mist the hair during the week? That's what I do. I have a very low maintenance routine but my hair is thriving. I just shampoo it around once a month or sometimes once every two weeks and then I use a styler which is my leave-in conditioner milk. and that's it.and then during the week I spray my hair with water, or use a bowl to rinse it thoroughly. I do it about once a week,sometimes twice a week.

I have a question, I’ve noticed that I have a bald spot at the top middle of my hair line. I only use silk scarves to tie my hair up and I tie it with the knot in the middle top of my hair, is this what is causing the thinning in that area even though it’s a silk scarf?….Thx
@melissasilva1943 жыл бұрын
Hello. That's what's causing it definitely since you are constantly tying the knot in that place. I noticed that when I was doing that at the top of my head that my hair started to break off and became extremely short. Avoid tying it in that spot and use oil like JBCO, Coconut oil, etc to massage in that area and avoid manipulation in that area in order to let it grow back. Hope this helps.
@MelissaDenise3 жыл бұрын
Yes that was some great advice above. This is what was happening to the nape of my neck bc of my scarf. I braid that section of my hair up now to protect it and its helped. I would def just switch up how you tie it or maybe try a bonnet.
