How exactly is this unquantified "thing" you refer to as "MSM" and this other unquantified "thing" you call "/tech" preventing scientists from publishing science?
@icygood101
@icygood101 2 жыл бұрын
@@helmutsilver5006 Counter to narrative science still gets published, or at least pre-printed, even if it's harder to get support but at such an important time for science communication and with a need for accurate, balanced health risk analysis (for individuals or for groups), mainstrean media definitely sidelined (or eliminated) certain conversations and favored public policy messaging in lieu of free exchange of information, even from bona fide experts. Basically, some scientists and medical professionals weren't trusted to speak to the pubic, even with hard, balanced data while others preferentially were, and this was often enforced by policies and mindsets from tech and media companies. People weren't trusted, in general, to think critically or take a nuanced perspective on risk-benefit analyses. People weren't generally allowed to consider (without being shunned or digging through alternative media and capricious charges of misinformation) "things" like 1) possible lab-leak, 2) wear masks/don't wear masks 3) various possible and confirmed risks of newly developed "prophylactic interventions" vs actual IFR from COVID-19 for each risk group 4) "alternative therapies" and support for studies on these 5) early talk on nat. imm. 6) the changing calculations on group benefits with supposedly immunized people still spreading at similar rates as others 7) and a whole lot of other issues.

I had 'something like flu' for 3 days in Jan 2020 and coughing up mucus for next 5 weeks. Heard about 'Covid' by then and started taking vit D (5000IU per day), vit C, Vit K2, zinc, as did my 90 & 91 yr old parents. No idea if any of us have been infected since - no symptoms. They (and my son) are jabbed - I am not. I'm 61, no co-morbidities, not obese, eat healthy and exercise daily (jog over Glastonbury Tor most days). I haven't worn a mask or 'distanced' anywhere - though often see masked people coughing, sneezing and sniffing in the supermarket. It all just makes me think that if there was the political motivation and we had been testing for Coronavirus to find 'cases' in previous years, we'd probably have been 'locking down' since my grandparent's days. The world would be even more crazy than it currently is! 😕

Not sure about Dr. Pilz, who is very far from a leader in the field of viral immunology (I'll take Dr. Shane Crotty, thank you very much), but the senior author on this review (i.e. this is only a review not a scientific paper with original research to substantiate a hypothesis) is the illustrious Dr. John Ioannidis who famously got it so very, very wrong early in the pandemic by positing public health officials were overreacting. Yes, he was correct to say we need more data (epic failure not to have the qPCR working by January or February of 2020) but with so much unknown, those making policy were wise to error on the side of caution. He chuckled at the notion that 10,000 deaths would be an overestimate and how would we not be able to tease out whether these deaths were due to SARS CoV-2 or Influenza. Then he chortles that it's science fiction for anyone to contemplate a scenario where the 68 deaths in mid March 2020 could in any way accrue to 680, much less, 6,800, 68,000, or 680,000. Yet here we sit with >1 million excess deaths in the U.S. in the last two years and realize that number would be higher had the SARS CoV-2 not become available in early 2021. So I would take "happy talk" that the virus is now endemic and life will be getting to normal from Dr. Ioannidis with a very large grain (boulder?) of salt. www.statnews.com/2020/03/17/a-fiasco-in-the-making-as-the-coronavirus-pandemic-takes-hold-we-are-making-decisions-without-reliable-data/

@@Agiyi Hi, I am looking for some help from some people in this comment section that perhaps have seen more data than I have. Can someone who has had previous infection/natural immunity to covid... But in that initial infection they developed very mild pneumonia; can that lerson encounter covid again and develop pneumonia again? What I want to know is, if there is a reduced likelyhood of such a symptomatic infection occuring if the person does have prior natural immunity/infection.
@Agiyi
@Agiyi 2 жыл бұрын
@@DeltiBecker I don't know if you tagged me for a specific reason or you just tag people but anyway. I am not a doctor so I can't know, nor have I heard about a study on this exact question. But from what I've learned from Dr Campbell's videos, I would say that it's very unlikely. If someone developed pneumonia from covid I assume that they got infected by the Wuhan variant or delta. Natural immunity seems very strong so I wouldn't expect them to get reinfected with delta. But, we know that those delta antibodies aren't enough for the omicron, so they can get infected and be symptomatic with omicron. But omicron doesn't target the lungs, it's more like a cold, so I wouldn't be worried about getting pneumonia again. Again, I'm not a doctor, I'm just trying to piece together the studies I've seen, I could be very wrong.

I don't think anyone who has had the vaccine would underrate natural immunity, but with natural immunity you have to take the risk of catching the disease in the first place and many people have died when they have failed to recover. People who have been vaccinated have preferred to acquire immunity in a safer way. And before you go on about vaccine damage, I have people in my family and friends who have had Covid damage and are still affected. You just have to weigh up the risks.

I had an antibody test done at a hospital in NY after 7 1/2 months from the original disease. No one was doing this yet (!). I was very glad to get it done there, as the test was first-rate and very detailed. At the time I had it, I only had .06 antibodies left. No vaccines had come out yet, and didn’t for another 2-3 months. I consistently got negative tests and traveled. At that point, I wanted to get a T-Cell test done. None were approved until May 2021. I had a blood test done for this when I finally could get one, but that usually only lasts in the blood for 6 months until it goes into the bone marrow. I’m convinced my antibodies have now gone into the bone marrow T-Cells (not sure that’s medically correct, lol). But it does seem as though I’ve been protected all this time by the natural immunity. I live with 5 people, some have gotten Omicron, but I haven’t, and I have a weak immune system to begin with. (CFS/ME). So, thanks for talking about this. I’ve felt like I’ve had these thoughts for years now, and no one was talking about this except you, Dr. Campbell! So, thank you both for this podcast tonight. Very encouraging!

I find it very sensible that a multi-pronged approach is advocated, where individual responsibility for health is emphasised, because that translates to better quality of life with robust natural immunity overall to face off myriad diseases that may present themselves in our lifetimes. Thanks once again for hope and illumination during this period of time, Drs! Though you are drs in different disciplines, I am really inspired by your quest for knowledge and understanding, and your use of your professional expertise to educate and share your knowledge and insights with us. I am also deeply touched by your humility in acknowledging the complexity of our immune system which scientists and medical professionals are still discovering to this day, and for striving to understand and appreciating it. Similar, wife and I mid 60s, not vaccinated. Severity was like a bad cold. We have been taking vitamins and had access to IVM. Despite what the doctor said, I do think Omicron is intrinsically milder than previous variants, as friends infected with Delta were much sicker, as the virus got into their lungs which was never the case for us.

The guest addresses the issues within the context of "population health". He does say that in future, some people may continue to become severely sickened and damaged by the virus, though overall we seem to have a fairly immune population. HERE is where INDIVIDUAL HEALTH CARE comes in. Doctors in clinical practice MUST listen to their patients and address individual needs. No returning to the old idea that a patient should recover from viral infection after a maximum of 21 days. If the patient remains ill, s/he is a malingerer or mental! Had this method of operation been challenged, exposed and corrected before SARS-CoV-2, we may have been ahead of the pandemic in a number of ways. Increasingly here in America, patients feel they are just a faceless number in a huge business machine. Medical care is never about numbers and population averages, but about individual needs. If that were not so, we would indeed have one-size-fits-all treatments and vaccines!
