👇👇MD MERCH CLICK HERE👇👇: FULL SHOP: md-fish-tanks.creator-spring.com I wanted to go for a natural look aquarium. Kind of like two bits of wood had fallen in the stream and and life had just grown around it. Plants all attached to the wood and loads of places for the fish to take refuge, breed and explore. A simplistic aquascape but I think the plants are what add the aged look and make it more "real" in a sense. This scape is stunning, you keep outdoing yourself MD! Your fish choice is also great, going for the more unusual nano species is soooo much fun! You should try and be on the look out for panda loaches (as opposed to garras which are also great), they are really active and major personalities and although quite rare I picked some up several months ago from my local maidenhead and they are amazing.

Hi can you tell me how to maintain a planted tank without co2
@SlickNick32 жыл бұрын
@@vikalawa5301 just watch his videos he has tons teaching you how to maintain a planted aquarium! It’s much easier than typing it all out!
@aslap4you882 Жыл бұрын
@@vikalawa5301 these pretty much should start you up: Compost soil that do not leak tannin as base, cover with sand, RGB light, find your light height and “on” time, plant to fish ratio, use low tech plants, clean up crew, weekly 20-30% water change and finally be lazy and let nature do its work

Love everything about this setup. The orange sand contrasts so well with the decorative gravel, the dark wood, the buce really pops, the green plants against the black background. I like that you kept the channel in the middle for the fish to swim through. The fish schooling really makes it come alive. Those coral red pencilfish are on my list of fish to keep someday and seeing them in your tank only reinforces why. Thank you for all the quality content, MD. I always look forward to your videos. Take care.

You can also use those mesh bags when changing water. Place the end in and zip it up so it stays on, it’s really good for making sure no fish or shrimp get sucked in.

My pygmy cories are in a paludarium with shrimp 😍 they look so good in it! I was actually hoping you would do another paludarium, I'm watching back through some of your old stuff again while I do crafts and you started off (in your small single shed studio) doing a lot of paludariums (which inspired me to make mine!) and small filterless tanks. It's really fun when I feed the paludarium, shrimp and snails come out of everywhere, my timid bristlenose pops up the front to steal some food before scurrying off again because it saw us or a shrimp started it, and the pygmies come up in little schools and scuffle about before darting off when they see us

Even tho I’ve seen you put aqua soil in bags a dozen times, I had a thought when I seen the amount of space when you laid the bags down. I think the plants grow so much quicker like this because the roots have to actually search for where the nutrients are, once they find it, it just becomes a massive root ball of nutrients, beneficial bacteria, and aqua soil! Genius

The coral red pencil fish are indeed incredibly stunning... Stupidly expensive, but if you can afford a good group of them, you will never regret it. I love mine 🙂 The only caveat I would put on keeping them is 'don't keep anything smaller and/or more timid in the same tank'... these are boisterous and fast fish! Mine relentlessly harassed other smaller tankmates, especially after feeding: necesitating a quick relocation of the timid ones.

I’m still confused at what the bags do exactly. I can see it containing the nutrients, but what do you mean when you say the plant roots penetrate it? How exactly are the roots getting into the soil if the soil is in the bags? Do the roots actually penetrate the bag and break it? Are they small enough to get through the mesh?

I took your advise and used bags. They are a big, big problem because you need way more topsoil to be able to plant your plants enough. I didn't use enough and plants struggle to root.
