My friends and I used mini braids in our daughters' hair to grow their hair and it worked wonders. We started using the style as a low maintenance protective style that was convenient. We soon got a little frustrated that they're hair grew so long and thick that this was the only style that made sense anymore🤦🏿♀️😂 Now my daughter has locs that's nearly waist length 🤷🏿♀️

You did a great job, the braids came out really nice!! I love your videos by the way....you keep it simple from the styling to the products. No over manipulation.Ive watched many KZbin videos during this pandemic because I haven't been to the salon since early March, which is when I had my last relaxer. I don't feel a bunch of products are necessary for hair growth, nor the different styles. Yes, it takes time to do natural hair, that's a given since it growing from out scalp, but it doesn't have to be that complicated

I've been waiting for someone like you to come into my life to help me with my hair. I use to have locks and i combed !!! yes!!! combed out my locks and my hair was literally touching my breast after 3 yrs of having the locks and my hair was so badly damaged and very thin because i lost like 60% of my hair. I had no choice but to cut it and its been 6 months since the chop and my hair hasn't grown that much plus its still thinning so i'm gonna try your method and we will see how it turns out .You inspired me to take better care of my hair, thank you.
@Avocadolegs4 жыл бұрын
Hey! I also combed my locs a little bit over 6 months ago. What made me retain my length again was low manipulation styles. I used to wash my hair only twice a month and would tuck my hair into cornrows or pineapple style. And what played a major role in growing fuller hair was leaving castor oil in my hair for atleast 3 hours after braiding out my hairstyle. I did this for 3 months and my hair was healing rapidly. I am now able to even do twist outs here and there. Oh btw I did not use any extra hair because I was afraid it might fall off. I did however use bun extentions to make me look a little bit older. The styling however due to fear of hydral fatigue, I only used a liquid leave in and sealed it with grease, which gave me the best results. I went from high porosity to low porosity in a month, but now my porosity is starting to be blanaced and leaning more towards medium porosity.

Hi. Thanks for this vid. I've been twisting my hair since my big chop 4 years ago and my hair stopped retaining length since about 2 years ago. Hair's currently 8" and 9" all over. I don't think mini twists help me retain any length anymore no matter how gentle I am wt my hair. The matting and tangles are just something else. Looking forward to trying these mini braids to see if my hair retains at least an inch for the first time in years I guess 😂

Girl I have a question...was there like a point in time where your hair length was different all over your head? I mean I got longer hair at the back than at the front and that's kinda crazy. Not sure if it's normal...Could there be any remedy? ( I know your not a hair specialist per say but do you have like an idea or something?) also what do you use to grease to hair and how often do you do that? xoxo
@kaylashepard49654 жыл бұрын
I know you asked her and I’m also not a hair specialist, but I dealt with the same issue. The only thing that really helped me was cutting all my hair to the same length (or if it’s not a drastic difference then around the same length) and then protective styling so that the front could eventually grow out to meet the back. Not sure what your hair type is, but oils like castor, avocado, and olive oil have helped my hair grow and get healthier. Unfortunately this could also be genetic. Good luck!
@shanicesegolenemaatchideku7704 жыл бұрын
@@kaylashepard4965 thanks a lot. I'll try do that. Thanks again😊
@daisiesandpandas12183 жыл бұрын
Parts of our hair grow faster than the other parts, it's normal. Check that you're not doing anything damaging first and then it's just normal. Just keep growing the hair like that until you reach your desired length and get a trim if you want afterwards, otherwise you'll be forever cutting your hair to match lengths
