This looks so fun, i hope i can build my house as big as I want it with cob one day! I looked into the Cob research institute and I'm so glad push to make this more normal is becoming more widespread!

I want to get a group of like minded people together & build cob homes for the homeless & it'd be awesome for the homeless to help build their own homes too 💗

That’s awesome!! Feel free to dm me @naturalbuildings if you have any questions. Hopefully will have the rest of the series out over the next 2 or 3 weeks. 🙏 I’d recommend having your plans looked at/receiving consulting along the way if you have 0 experience just to be sure you are building a safe structure but I’m happy you are taking value from the videos.

So this might he seen as an ignorant question, but why not just make the cob into those basketball sized loaves to begin with, rather than turning a large amount and then dividing it down? My thinking is you could do it in a smaller work space and would be able to determine ratios a little more accurately per brick, like it would be "This many cups of sand, this many cups of clay, handful of hay, etc" Then again, its easier to stomp than it is to kneed for potentially hours on end

I guess with your suggested method, what you gain in saving energy from stumping a bigger batch, you lose in time doing smaller batches could be their reasoning? I'm gonna try your method since I will be working by myself by reducing the ratios to smaller measuring buckets. Thanks for sharing.
