Hey guys! I need to take a little keyboard break so I have another video scheduled for tomorrow but I won’t be replying to any comments for the next couple of days. If you need any hamster care questions answered in that time I recommend asking on a forum like HamsterCentral.com or HamsterHideout.com both are very friendly and reputable sources for hamster care! Be nice to each other and I’ll see you soon! 😜 💙💛

I need help with my hamster. My hamster does not run on his wheel and he's already got a month. He's not stressed. He's normal. But the store I bought was not wheeled so I wanted to ask how long it would take him to get used to running on the wheel. And another thing I always put it on the wheel and it just does not want to be on the wheel is not running on it please help me

Erin, I can see you really care about your hamster's health and safety. Please, I warn you, do not risk your hamster's health by using potting soil meant for outdoors, or anything with perlite in it. Perlite is not perfectly safe, if eaten it can cause blockages. Please, please Erin, use coconut coir soil, it's so much safer and you'll have peace of mind, you won't have to use your hammy as a guinea pig and see if he'll end up with some nasty issues because of it :( I speak from experience!

Ellie L. Ok 👍 well I got mine second hand (it’s A LOT cheaper) or you can order them and the size I have is 80inches by 50 inches (I thought it was the 3rd but it’s actually the 2nd) and it just fits a lot of the toys and bedding into it and the best things are that it fits an 11 inch wheel into it for a Syrian and also that the top isn’t too high so you can hang things for their enrichment 😊
@Yeewen884 жыл бұрын
Imogen Jackson did you mistype because 80 by 50 inches is 4000 sq inches and this cage is about 1600sq inches

Hi Erin...What a beautiful natural cage..your hamster is very lucky to have such a beautiful enclosure. I like to say thank you for all the information you give..it is very helpfull. I also want to tell that it happened twice that my hamster get stock in a gap in the bendy bridges. The first time i used it as a fence but strange enough she got stock with her leg in a very very small gap that you couldnt imagine a hamsterleg would ever fit in it but is does..if it was a bigger gap she could have free herself from it but it are specially the tiny gaps who are the most dangerous in my situation. Thankfully i was looking at her before i went to sleep otherwise she would have hang the whole night upside down. The second time it happened i use it as a bridge..in the middle was a tiny gap and while she was running up..her backfeet came in that gap and she was not able to get it out again. This time i saw it happening because i was thankfully looking her exploring at that moment. In my opinion the bandy bridges are very dangerous. Since then i fill up the gaps...specially the teenytiny ones with mos or sisal...💚💚💚

Hello!! I know you will probably not read this but I would still like to tell my story. I would like to thank you so much for you amazing videos, your happy poppy mood, your cute hamsters & you amazing knowledge about the animals you own, you helped me though tough times. I had been going tough depression (witch does not help all of my other mental conditions of, Anxiety, ADD, ADHD and dyslexia) your videos always made me have this little spark of hope to continue my life and pursue on. Your adorable pets just always made my day, i have tried to commit suicide 3 times in the last two years, because of you, hoppinghammy, hammylux, and a close friend I stayed alive. I really did not realize how much I needed a cute little fluff ball until I found your channel. I had started to research and finally after a year got myself a cute little female Syrian calico hammy jammed ash. Having a pet really made me want to live more and know if I left then they would not be properly cared for. Thank you so much!!! I love you!

Have you ever considered putting live mealworms as a “clean up crew” and a snack for Nitrogen?
@stutzbearcat84253 жыл бұрын
This is an interesting question that I wonder too... I keep hermit crabs and have isopods (roly polies) in my tank, because they serve the purpose of cleanup crew and the hermit crabs also eat them. I imagine a hamster could have a similar mutualistic relationship

At a reptile shop probably? but i really dont know. Probably at a gardening shop too?well, i know for sure you can get them at a reptile shop🤷🏽♀️
@dreamrabbits50725 жыл бұрын
reptile section of pet shops :) terrarium moss, spagnum moss, its much safer to get them from the reptile pet stores instead of gardening stores, they are meant for pets especially sensitive pets like reptiles so they are a lot safer, same with the soil, the soil she uses is not safe, perlite is not safe for any animal to live in, it can cause blockages when ingested. And bonemeal etc is not known to be safe or not for hamsters.

Would a hamster safe wax on the wood wheel help it be more easily cleaned do you think? I think beeswax would probably be harmless to omnivores. Or would that be too slippery for Nitrogen to run on?
