Some days I have slip-ups it's so hard because throughout my whole life I have never eaten healthy. I'm 23 years old and at this point I really want to have a full quality of life so if that means I can no longer ever have a cheeseburger again in life that's fine if that means I can no longer and enjoy alcohol coffee and all that good stuff like cookies hot chips then that's fine with me. Carol, I will say that many people with hyperthyroidism experience hair loss, and while balancing the thyroid hormone levels are necessary, there can also be other factors, such as nutrient deficiencies. Skin conditions such as acne are common in Graves' disease, and I have my patients focus on improving their immune health/healing the gut, and I also advise them to avoid certain foods (i.e. gluten and dairy). As for TED, perhaps Dr. Childs and I will do a future chat on this topic, but this involves the same autoimmune component as Graves' disease, and so it's important to find and remove triggers, as well as to heal the gut. Having healthy vitamin D and omega-3 levels are also important, and certain nutrients can sometimes help such as selenium.

So glad you said that at the start, yes there is more about under active thyroid than there is about Over active thyroid, which is what I have and the specific doctor I have is clueless, now I’m waiting to get it cut out as they think nothing else they can do for me, he gave me a too high a set of tablets and then I was under and got an enlarged thyroid, so I have a fat neck and some days it makes breathing difficult, then the thyroid was over then under then over then under, and this was all done with emails and phone calls and with covid I wasn’t seen at all. Help and support was only given to people to do with covid so everyone else had to F off.

Thank you for the info. I was diagnosed with grave disease 3 months ago. My primary doctor prescribed Methimazole, but the endocrinologist said I don't have to take it. And he gave me 6 weeks to see if it goes away by itself. After 6 weeks, my numbers were higher than before. So he suggested me go for RAI. But I bought your book and I realized that there is a natural way to heal. I made an appointment with a functional doctor. It took a while to get an appointment. My symptoms were worse. So I started taking Methimazole by my decision. What do you think about that?

What kind of natural path doctor do one go to who run these different tests panels to get down to the person own personal health problems? I have been recently diagnosed with Graves Disease and my Endocrinologist told me that lifestyle changes and diet wouldn’t help me which was a huge turn off! She’s recommending that RAI drink which isn’t going to happen. I most definitely going for the natural approach. I already eat and drink clean, I have eliminated gluten from my diet thanks to the Wheat Belly diet, Dr. William Davis, and I am currently eliminating sugars from my diet now, thanks to Dr. Livingood for 21 plus days. However, I do think that I need that blood panel work done so I would know exactly what is going on with me and address it ASAP. Thanks for this video, it is very informative. I don’t eat red meat but I do eat very clean/organic. 👍🏽😊👍🏽😊

Is it possible just to go back to normal as you were before you got it. My daughter 30 yrs old felt nothing and went to the Dr for a check up.. they were shocked that her heart rate was way high and blood pressure up. They immediately put her on blood pressure medication and masthenasol .. they scanned her thyroid and said there are three small nodules. They have scanned her thyroid twice and tons of blood tests. almost one year later Down to 10 mg mensenthol per day and no blood pressure medication. They Never said anything about food, diet, or supplements. Of course I’m so worried about the nodules, but they don’t seem as concerned.

I changed my diet and did the other things like reducing stress, increasing sleep.... I didn't have nodules, but I used anti-thyroid (I used PTU because methimazole made me itch.) I got regular blood tests and gradually my numbers came back to normal and I decreased and then discontinued my PTU. My numbers have stayed normal. I think doctors in this country are just afraid to let their thyroid patients heal, for fear they might die and the doctor be blamed. I think there are probably a lot of people who could go back to normal, but they just do what their doctors want them to do.

Our blood pressure fluctuates All day depending on what we eat, stress, etc. The best thing to do is take blood pressure readings throughout the day/evening, do this for 1-2 weeks then share the info with the doctor for a better evaluation of overall blood pressure. Keep in mind Many, people experience their blood pressure rising when at the doctors office. My bp normally runs 127/76 at home, at the doctors it’s much higher than that.

@@elleelle5939 hi Elle what I mean is that he did not check my adrenal function he did not check to see if I have a MTHFR which I now know that I do and which I now know can cause thyroid disease. So his treatments and recommendations were completely useless to me and the herbal anti-thyroid treatment did not work for me. What I’m most disappointed about is the fact that he did not check my adrenal function or for MTHFR because this is thyroid healing 101. Unfortunately I didn’t know that back then otherwise I would’ve addressed it. I don’t believe that gut infections are the root cause of thyroid disease I now believe that no one knows what comes first the chicken or the egg is it gut dysbiosis that causes the thyroid disease or does thyroid disease cause the dysbiosis. In my case but I believe what happened was that MTHFR Was a huge trigger for my gut issues and thyroid disease. MTHFR can mess with adrenal function as well. Basically you cannot heal your thyroid without healing your adrenals and finding out what’s causing the adrenal dysfunction. There were so many things that he did not address that could’ve saved my thyroid. You can find out if you have MTHFR and other genetic issues that are contributing to thyroid disease through 23 and me raw data.
