there is an archaic social sense that everyone should form a couple, have children and a family and now thanks to various sources of influence a "dictatorship of happiness" where you should be happy all the time and people alone are "not" happy, but what I see most are people in relationships full of problems who fear being alone so they stay in these relationships, they fear being unhappy alone and that's why they hold on to the illusion that someone else will bring them happiness.

I had some lovely alone time just now. I have a favourite place by a river, and I sat there silently for a while and watched - there were swans, fish, damsel flies, a kingfisher. That will probably bypass anyone not from the UK, but it was fab! Also - with you on the lone food shopping - I find it oddly soothing and enjoyable.

I love that ! Saaame for both activities ! ❤️ What helped me maaany years ago, when I was really down, was getting myself a camera, to get myself out of the house more. I started with nature photography, later upgraded my equipment and had some success with my photography. You are lucky that you could see a kingfisher easily ❤️ Not easy to spot where I'm from ! But I am lucky that I have my grandparents' apartment at the seaside and.. dang, the Dobrudja area (Romania) is a wildlife heaven ! Starting 3 years ago, even flamingos are coming around.. but these are difficult to spot. Either way, even if my telephoto lens is too short for birding, I did get many species over time. And even if I am not traveling to my favourite wildlife spot, I love Tabacariei lake in Constanța. It's walking distance from my place and aside from swans every day, multiple species of seagulls, cormorants, ducks.. You can get lucky and see other birds (even pelicans, they like the sermon at the church nearby) or a turtle or a muskrat. Last week, my luck brought me a white heron sitting casually just 3m away from people in the park (something that I only saw around the Danube) and a gorgeous Egyptian goose - I treasure the pics that I got of it ! 🥰 Also, in the small port at the Black Sea, several species of grebe can be seen, and last year, following one, I saw a couple of dolphins in the sea. Okay, that was really lucky and once in a lifetime. I cherish that because in my mountain area, it's more about small birds, squirrels, occasionally a hedgehog or a deer. Not too many wild lakes nearby to attract many birds. Do keep your habit of going to the river as it's something new everyday and there is something calming about sitting by the water..

Great ideas, I'm going to try and have a me date at some point. I can't recommend volunteering enough. I volunteer weekly at a pet rescue and it's a great way to know you'll consistently see people and feel good about what you're doing.

I love your videos and you are so beautiful! ♥️ I am living by myself for almost three years and after having lived at home and then with terrifying and weird roommates, I am so grateful and relieved to be by myself. My colleagues now keep thinking I’m lonely and they feel bad for me for living by myself and alone. Another colleague said last week that the longer someone lives alone, they might not ever want to live with someone else/get in a relationship. It’s so crazy how people think living with someone else has to be the standard and if you live alone, you’re an anomaly. My manager thinks it’s weird I go to the movies by myself. I would love to be in a relationship one day, but for now I am cherishing this season where I can work on myself to become the best version!

You have an amazing attitude and outlook on being alone. I, too, am alone and want to be in a relationship yet I don't. I want to be a healthy and happy version of myself before entertaining the idea of allowing someone into my life. I'm glad I took the time to read your comment. Thank you. 😊

I dnt knw , whether or not I should share it here with u , but I wish we can talk directly but I feel like I can help you, so I m just gonna share my experience of depression and what I have learnt from it, how I got out of it… If it helps then very good or just ignore… I dnt knw… but anyway, see I went through a phase wheN I was depressed for more then 2 years straight and there was a point when it felt like I cant take it anymore, so I decide to fight for my life and myself, and seek medical help…It didn’t help me , Infact I felt more depressed when I was on medications , drowsy , brain fog , more anxious… so I started to read about it, trying to understand the science behind it, to my understanding , see , we train our body , we feel hungry exactly at the same time daily, we wake up at the same time, and so many things like this… what I mean to say is that we actually create habits …. So when we are depressed, first we started to be sad but its stay in our hands, when to start n when to stop being sad or cry, but when we do it for too long then it goes beyond our control… so what I did was same way like we start a diet , we calorie restrict ourself, for few days it become so difficult but after few days our body get adopted to our new routine… so when i was depressed, my brain was constantly started releasing chemicals for being sad , I started training it to release dopamine n serotonin etc… and was very mindful of not feeling sad at all because I knw that this will become a habit …. Thats it … within few weeks I felt ok, since then I m fine… now I dnt even try to cry even for fun( earlier i use to cry just like when i feel like even when it’s nothing serious)…. Sorry for this long msg..😬

I know how that feels and I understand how loneliness can make us feel sometimes. Because I watched a video that about a guy who was broke, depressed, alone, lost, tired, confused, etc. And that really helped me out a lot when I feel broke, have no car, no home, etc. Sometimes the energy gets too heavy. It's called Do This To Turn Your Life Around by Ralph Smart.

These tips are so wholesome and usefull. Thank you soooo much for putting this out there. I've really been struggling with loneliness the last couple of months. I always thought this feeling would be going away once I got older but it's just getting more intense. So now I've understood that I need to learn how to live with it rather than resist it and sit in shame

Thanks for the video it's really helpful cuz I do struggle with enjoying my time alone. I'm still living with my family but when I get so low I tend to be alone and record myself talking but after 10 seconds I cry and tbh I feel good cuz I managed to make me feel better by myself

I love you so much. It’s weird to say that to someone I’ve never interacted with, but your way of thinking gives me peace knowing that I’m not the only one with this mindset. I feel understood. Please keep being yourself. I love the genuineness. You’re seen. You’re a great person, so thank you.

In the late twentieth century & now the 21st century this has become more common, still totally foreign to certain folks who are old world attached to big families & family politics,,where too much individual identification is somehow failing the big family dynamic !!
