Also, you don't want to stretch you hair dry because you'll dry out the moisture you put in when styling, making heat damage. The new layer of water acts as a barrier and remoisturizes your hair.
@Jadedstar534 жыл бұрын
I was thinking that.. even indirect heat so close cant be good on already dry hair
@Angie_Onaleta4 жыл бұрын
@Sanaa Chatman say you do this consistently, like, every time you do a WnG, you'll inevitably run the integrity of your hair over time, that is, if your not using a heat protectant. Heat damage is roughly overly dehydrated hair cuticles. The blow dryer is, in a sense, indirect heat, and less damaging than a flat iron, but with consistency it can damage the hair strand. You can use the cool air setting too, it just takes longer.
@RedSoSeductive4 жыл бұрын
She has used the cool setting to stretch my hair several times over years. Do you see those curls??? I do the same and I do not have any heat damage.

In what world is THAT in? Water just makes hair wet. The cream conditioners is what moisturize the hair. Heat does not on average, damage the hair. Extreme heat damages the hair. Spraying it with water will help mold the stretch.
@ivydior65184 жыл бұрын
I wait till my hair is about 80%-90% dry then i stretch with my blow dryer. I just band it up at night and sleep with bonnet on. It works the same with great results.

You have to let your hair cool down. Take a jumbo scrunchy and apply it to the section that you blow dried. Let it sit for about 20min, & it’ll set stretched and won’t shrink back up. Also, make sure your hair is properly moisturized. If not, your strands will expand because they’re seeking moisture from around you.
@lailaa88444 жыл бұрын
I’ll have to try that thanks 🙏🏽

Still loving my stretched curls! Just had to come back and say this...The second day I stretched my curls (I've found there is no such thing as second day hair for me. I have to wet or at least mist hair heavily EVERY day), anyway, the second day I was SHOCKED! At one point during the day at work, I walked into the bathroom and saw myself in the mirror. Um Um Um! I looked GOOD! My hair was kickin! Now, you have to know why I'm so excited about this. I am over 50, have never been girly but a tomboy ALL my life. I'm actually ok with that. But... my husband of almost 30 years constantly cheated on me with women 20 or so years younger than him, emotionally abused me the entire time causing me to believe I was pretty much worthless, and finally walked out on me about 2.5 years ago. Of course he got a woman 9 years older than our oldest child. But don't feel sorry for me. I have my identity back and am loving answering to no man! I'm just saying all this to point out how a little bit of self-care does wonders! And again, to say thank you NaturalReign for making your videos!
@fionam49344 жыл бұрын
This is how I stretch my hair. You get MUCH more of a stretch. You gotta do it when it’s not too wet so either nearly dry or spray hair like you did. This works great on a twist out too!!!

Yesss!! The reason for letting it dry and then dampening it to stretch is that it needs to clump, define and seal to keep the perfect curls in the stretched state. I love this... i feel like you were reading my mind! Ive been trying something similar over my last 2 washes. The one i did yesterday was DOPE! Gonna try it in smaller sections like u did on my next wash day....Im high porosity and get really frizzy when i stretch. I used purified water mixed with aloe and Lustrasilk in my spray bottle and i added more flax and aloe gel as i went as needed. I used LOOSE ponytail holders to band my hair and tied a silk scarf after that so it has not shrunken back up or frizzed up yet.

I like this method, gonna try it tomorrow and see if it’s better than what I do currently. I have a lot of hair and a decent length I’d say so I know the “big hair” look is doable for me and I think this will do the trick 😌 Update: This method is the truth! I am always very skeptical about letting my hair shrink up via air drying but I decided to trust the process and it worked. There’s something great that happens when you "reactivate" your wash n go with water and then stretch it. I added a tad more gel where I felt I needed it and the definition and length I got was amazing 😊. I also go much more compliments on my hair and it lasted far longer. I will continue to use this method!
