Excellent video! While sand heights can be "seasonal", I have seen them change 4 - 6 ft in a 24-hour period, due to major storms. The low tides that you cite of high three to four feet, may have been the low for the day, but are not relatively low tides. Common low tides are in the 1 to 2 ft range. Negative tides being relatively rare. The tide gauge is based on MLW (mean low water), which is an average of low tides for the year. Actual conditions can vary greatly from the predictions due to circumstances like excessive river runoff, which may not be included in the prediction. As you rightly point out, you have to evaluate the real-time situation, and act accordingly. Nice job!

Incredible video! I’ve seen some videos where the crater entrance is so low you have to crawl and some where you can just walk in are there difference entrances?

I think all those videos show pretty much the same entrance. I assume it’s an example of what National Park Service was saying about how the amount of sand on the beach can differ at different times/seasons. So the “ground” is so high sometimes that it covers up most of the entrance, hence making crawling necessary.

@@LeLiuOfficial so that means the crater fills with water then? Thats very very interesting. I want to go when the low tide .5 and its the only time I can go. Im thinking if I have water shoes we should be able to make it.

@@robertthurman1336 Yup the base of the crater will be filled with water during high tides. Negative tide level and water shoes definitely recommended

@@LeLiuOfficial I’m going on July 5th when the tide is at .5 at 9:52am. I’ll have water shoes and we are going to run in and out quickly so I’m hoping that’s low enough tide. I went when it was 3.4 and there was no way I was going to do that haha.
