Beautiful chicken! Unfortunately, they are almost extinct in many places in the US. More protection and habitat conservation for them and all wild life and nature are so desperately needed.

I live on the prairie. People have no respect for it. None. Even less for the creeks. Anytime a new school or church is built, the creeks are filled in and the prairie is covered in asphalt.

Wonderful documentation of courting and territorial behavior. They're a bit on the comical side, TBH -- I'm surprised they have not been featured as regular cartoon characters. Maybe "Felicia and Felix, Prairie Chickens."
