For wanting better direction and outcomes for the environment. For the island to be saved rather than digging up all its phosphate. For what was already exploitation of natural (phosphate) resources that took place up until 1997 stripping off hills and exposing reef. Today Nauru is fighting courts to commercially start deep sea drilling, which i deeply regret is to be a similar mistake to the phosphate debacle. If not for worse consequences to upend environmental chaos and the activation/acceleration of the Pacific Ring of Fire along the tectonic plates and fractures. I beseech you Mr Aingamea, for the want of the island of Nauru to survive and sustain itself as 'home' still for its people. Please do not allow deep sea drilling to take place in the Pacific, please protect the reef and Micronesian islands. There's nothing clean, green or sustainable about drilling for minerals. Neither is the price for what lithium sells to the ethical foreplay of Technology giants, planned obsolence of tech products, and tech waste secretly shipped to poorer countries who cant do anything about it once they find out.
