This is a representation of how the new culture or trends bully and try to shame our old artforms and culture..This is so powerful and haunting at the same time

My father was an ardent fan of this art form and he used to take me to a Kadhakali club in TVM when I was a kid. Thus I got the opportunity to watch puranic epic stories and I really liked going to their dressing room to watch them putting the long makeups, getting their face painted and wearing colourful costumes. And thats about it. As I grew up, got access to watching movies more frequently, started hearing western music and started listening at the MJs and the GMs more. Now I seldom see this art form seen as public events. I think it's now confined to events during yearly festivals happening at various temples. Later on that too will vanish :( ...

I can't help but cry every time I hear this song. It hits at my core in so many different ways. As a kid who was bullied and harassed for being "too Indian" while growing up in America and learning Indian classical music, it feels so ironic to me that a lot of Indians in India didn't understand the beauty and tragedy in this song when it first came out. It's funny to me that I was raised on more Indian classical music than most Indians my age were in India itself. I grew up with M.S., S.P. Bala, Kishore Kumar, Mohd. Rafi, NFAK, Lata, Asha - the list goes on.

People still want to watch idiots like Kakkar.. hence such artists make their quick riches. Regional musicians are way better - from Maharashtra to Odisha to Kerala - there's no dearth of talent. But ppl are totally infatuated with Hindi and English language stuff. The most unfortunate part

I think an another interpretation is that the video talks about ignorance of people to things that are different or not familiar to them, about people casting out others who chose to think differently, make them think like the same and if not force them out. I also think from the pov of the kid its like how innocence of the young mind can be corrupted by the world. U know just one persons opinion.

I recently watched one of the interviews of Malayalam actor 'Nedumudi Venu' where he said that his son used to learn Kathakali when he was at school and he performed in certain stages too. But later his son completely withdrawn himself from Kathakali as his friends at school mocked at him for being an aspiring Kathakali artist. They used to mock at him using hand gestures and Mudras used in Kathakali. Later this boy completely alienated himself from that. After watching the interview the first thing came to my mind was this song. We can interpret this song in certain ways. A boy/girl being different from others gets erased from the society or the society being judgemental towards those who follow an art that doesn't have much exposure among the present society. They consider these people as antique objects which have to be contained in a museum showcase only. What i absorbed from this song is just one thing, 'Live and let live.' There will be a space for a different man too somewhere in this society. But living in between these so called modern people is a task. In some way we are all that boy inside the womb of that dilapidated well. We might have faced painful jokes on our body, colour, language and all that but to soar up from that well isn't so easy. Just like that actor's son some people give up sometimes. As a final note i quote Robert frost: ''Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.''

It is not means that they are using art in their face. It is symbolic representation of their life is about art and they are living with arts in their heart. And the whole video representing that our culture or our art forms getting negleting by new generation or it is getting vanished day by day. Even someone ready to pickup and raise again. But the external forces or other cultured activities gonna stop or try to kill.they dnt need any root cultured art forms, and they are representing for mixing stuffs and short cuts in arts. And the last you can see a black face, it shows angry mode, so there is a quite mode and angry mode. If it needed, art also wil resist if there is still a root
