I just bought one because of this video. Do you still enjoy the battery? I’m curious after 4 years. Thanks for a good video.

It’s a fantastic battery. I still have some from 5 years ago that I use on trail cameras now. We now sell them on our website and ship them out every day.

best battery video I have seen yet. This was three years ago, do you still feel the same way? Do they get hot when using or charging? Do they need well-ventilated area? Get two 10s or one 20?
@NavarreKayakFishing Жыл бұрын
The battery in that video is still going strong. We now offer them on our website. Two tens is a great option if you plan to power to different objects in two different areas. If you just want more power for a fish finder the 20AH is a monster. I have a 20AH sitting under the seat of my kayak right now power a Garmin fish finder and livescope. I’ve never had any heat issues ever.

@@NavarreKayakFishing ..my FIRST EVER kayak comes in in a couple weeks. I have been fishing serious for 8-9 years both by boat and land crabbing. I want to start doing this KZbin channel thing, albeit a little late to the game. I hate buying things and sending them back, if you know what I mean. I have seen great stuff about Nocqua. I have a Lowrance Elite 9-Ti, and I have two go pro cameras. fish from 3-8 hours at a time.. is 10 enough you think? Or go 20 AH? Is your link in the comments below?

@NavarreKayakFishing Жыл бұрын
If you purchased the 4" version the 4.4AH version is plenty but the majority buy the 10AH so you can upgrade fish finders or power additional items like lights and charge your phone/gopro.

Do these need a fuse wired in or it is fine going straight from the battery to my fish finder wiring?

I’ve done it both ways. Nocqua now makes a waterproof inline fuse that makes it quick and easy.

Hey! Can you transducer read 300 feet and deeper? Mine seems to lose depth readings at 250 feet when it's supposed to read 900 feet in salt water in my kayak. I use Striker 4 vivid 4cv with its default Garmin GT20-TM transducer with the nocqua 10AH battery kit.

If you want to scan deeper then 300’ accurately you’re going to have to step up the unit quite a bit. You can also try change your frequencies.

I don’t always run my ff. It’s set up on a switchblade for easy removal/install. When i do use it, my nocqua 10 sits in the side pocket of my predator pdl, along with the excess transducer wire. It’s one of the things that made me fall in love with that yak...so many options to situate it for your own personal preferences. What OT missed, you’ve filled in the gaps with the 3D printer. The more amp hours the more run time. But as you increase the runtime the price also increases. I say buy biggest battery you can afford. The best batteries I would say are lithium-ion because they weigh half as much as a deep cycle SLA battery, and they last a lot longer, more reliable. The downside is they cost quite a bit more. And the cheapest option is the deep cycle SLA battery.
@chetyoder4 жыл бұрын
one thing I do w/ my PDL battery bag is unstrap it and turn it over, so it hangs 'on' the straps rather than hang on the stitching plus it sucks the battery up higher saving space
@NavarreKayakFishing4 жыл бұрын
When I used it for a battery I would just loosen the straps until the bag laid on the bottom of the kayak. The straps just stopped it from sliding back and forth but didn’t support the weight.

Nick, this was a really good video. I have a question....I have a new Humminbird Helix 7 and would like to operate it my home. I have it mounted in my kayak by a reputable dealership in DFW and they have done a superb job. However, I cannot find the answer I need to my above problem. I was under the impression I could simply purchase a new power cord, connect it to my charged Nocqua battery and "practice" on the simulation mode in my home. I am seeing that all of the power cords are lacking the female connecter and only have the two wires. Where can you get this connector and how do you connect it to the two wires. If you would like, I am happy to send you a picture. Thanks!
