Navi Mumbai’s First Metro Line Inaugural Journey | Belapur to Pendhar Train Ride. The 11.1 km long Navi Mumbai metro line 1 from Belapur to Pendhar opened for public from Friday.

The stations covered in Line No. 1 are Belapur Terminal, RBI Colony, Belpada, Utsav Chowk, Kendriya Vihar, Kharghar Village, Central Park, Pethpada, Amandoot, Petali-Taloja and Pendhar.
According to a release by CIDCO, the fares for Metro services are
Rs 10 for 0 to 2 km distance,
Rs 15 for 2 to 4 km,
Rs 20 for 4 to 6 km,
Rs 25 for 6 to 8 km,
Rs 30 for 8 to 10 km and
Rs 40 for distances beyond 10 km.

World record project by CIDCO. 11Km 12years and some work on stations is still incomplete. 100% cost escalation. This project was used by all political parties as printing press. CIDCO employees and chairman's made huge amounts thru this project

CIDCO officials failed to connect with Kharghar Station which is most importantly in need of Kharghar and Taloja residences. Kharghar station and connected metro stations are 1 - 1.5 km away and unnecessary to take the metro till Belapur.

Its a great thing that after much much delay, the Navi Mumbai metro has started. Congratulations to the patience of all those residing in Taloja and other areas. Hope the metro helps a lot of people and is upto its full capacity. But somewhere, I think the route will help only a minimum area passengers. The route should have been planned in such a way that it touches the commercial places of Navi Mumbai like Vashi/ Koperkhairne and run thro' the employment zones of Navi Mumbai on one end and on the other something like Panvel, because Navi Mumbai is a superb city whose all multi modes of travel is very good and people have enough options. Only hope atleast the Metro doesn't incur losses.

I think the metro is mainly connected to Belapur terminal because from there you have connectivity via Local train to main places like vashi and Thane, soo overall it's a good project, there was no need to waste more money to make metro till Vashi

@@56parashsuryawanshi47 Well your point is right, if connectivity proves that people can seamlessly travel without wastage of much time and break, then there is no sense in wasting more money. Point was to increase the usage of metro, because ultimately stagnant population usage revenue will not sustain the metro for long and it could incur losses. But if the stagnant population which would use the metro right now is enough for sustainance of metro, then definitely, its great, no use to connect the main places. But one should note, its not just about sustainance, its also about revenue for maintenance which would increase day by day. You would not want the metro to have a smelly toilet, stations becoming stale and fans not working and other things which is life long and never ending.
