People forget that these are toes or even fingers (digital) that horses run on. I trained to be a chiropodist after leaving school so I get what horses do on the points of their toes. When you see the terrible consequences on the feet of ballet dancers it becomes clearer just how important good foot care in horses is. People tend to just see them as feet but they're much more complex.
