In today's episode, we talked with Rabbi Wolpe about his perspective on divorce, navigating the meaning of marriage, leading a life of empathy, and more! It's always nice to learn from someone with a different perspective and we enjoyed our conversation with him.

A wonderful session with Rabbi Wolpe. Reminds me of my University days taking a Bible as Literature course. Part of my class craved further discourse so we invited a Priest, a Rabbi and other religious leaders to a Bible workshop where we basically just grilled them all with questions for 1 hour+. Learned so much.

Excellent Questions, Shawn & Andrew! Amongst so, so many treasures throughout this interview, I loved how the Rabbi explained the difference between someone being introduced as a ‘husband/wife’ & a ‘partner’! (-With introduction as ‘Wife/Husband’ comes the intent of life-time commitment & with the introduction as ‘Partner’… this is not the case.) And YAY for LIMITS!!! This was Amazing content! (~Always is!) Way to go, Shawn & Andrew! Thank you! 🎤❤️🎤

Whenever I listen to an interview in which someone doesn’t believe in Jesus, that person continues to come to mind… over & over & over again! My chosen way to cope with this, is to pray for this person whenever this person comes to mind! ~ Numerous prayers have been said for the dear & brilliant Rabbi throughout the past 24 hours! Amongst his nuggets of treasured truths were some pieces that my husband & I grieve & other pieces on which my husband & I are still conversing! Thank you for this! P.S. Do you think it’s sanctimonious to fear for (& pray) for a person who does not believe in Jesus?

I disagree with the idea that only religious people believe in marriage and here is why. I don't consider myself very religious but I very much believe in marriage because of my parents. I never saw my parents give up on each other no matter what. So because of that I always saw marriage as a goal and want of mine. My sister feels the same way as I do and she is an atheist. It is because of our immigrants' parents. By the way I love this episode. You guys asked such good questions.

Excellent quote on suffering … the idea being that there’s a difference between having *experienced abuse/suffrage & *causing suffrage! ~LOVE reading to our children at bed time! 📚❤️🥰🥰 It was helpful for me to hear Rabbi point out that there is more in the Bible on keeping the Sabbath than same sex relations. It is my belief that Jesus did come to earth as a baby to change the world for the better forever! My heart is full of love & compassion for people from all walks of faith!

Malachi 2:16 (NASB1995) For I hate divorce,” says the Lord, the God of Israel, “and him who covers his garment with wrong,” says the Lord of hosts. “So take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.” Yes, there are reasons that divorce is allowed, but as the Lord says He hates divorce

@@gabriellacallahan2649 I’m so sorry that you went through such a hard time. First thing you did and had to do was getting you and your kids to a safety. No matter what happened in your marriage there is forgiveness in Jesus.

So I should get married because of what other people think? That seems like a terrible reason. You should get married because of something you want to do not to conform to other people's ideas or to make people believe something about you. How small mind is someone must be to think that you have to get legally married in order to prove your commitment to someone.
