Here's a quick tour of the USS Roosevelt Female Barracks (Delta) back in 2018. (Pre-Covid)
Male barracks look very similar to this.

Do you get a lot of snakes or scorpions or roaches inside the dorms there? I know bugs are bad in Florida

John Great question! Surprisingly no! I was there in the summer of 2018. September to be exact. I didn’t notice many bugs. The barracks are pretty clean.

Aslo after boot camp im supposed to go to Pensacola, Fl too but have a question to when you could get your phone or if your family can bring a suitcase of clothes the day of graduation?
@jxayvxiv

Whoami ? The day of graduation your family can bring you your phone. You’ll get Liberty until 2100 so if you’re coming back to the Ship you have to give your phone back to your family and they can either come to the Airport with you, or mail it to your A-School.

Whoami ? I also don’t recommend a suitcase of clothes the day of Graduation because you stay in the Ship until the next morning and you have to carry all of that with you to the Quarterdeck, & to the Airport.

Whoami ? Basically, DON’T take clothes or have them sent to you if you’re APACT. You’ll be there for roughly Two weeks after Indoc & even then you have to Phase up to Phase II before you start wearing civilian clothes. If you’re going to be in Pensacola longer than two weeks so several months I recommend you having them sent then, or with the option of buying new clothes but just remember you have to carry all that with you when you leave😂

Hey this is probably random nd a dumb question but on the prone float do you kinda float on top of the water with ur head down? Or with your waist nd feet under nd head down? Im trying to practice but want to do it right lol
@jxayvxiv
@jxayvxiv 5 жыл бұрын
Whoami ? That isn’t a dumb question, Trust me! The Prone float, when I took Remedial classes this guy asked if he could do the dead man’s float but the Instructor recommended not to because not everyone can hold their breath for 5 minutes. Yes, you can come up for Air but overall it’s just a lot easier for you to practice on your back because you won’t overthink it as much. However, to answer your Question you will lay on your back with your head leaning back into the water.

werser102938 That’s What I’ve been looking into, that or converting over to surface and working with Corpsmen. How long is your contract? Have you deployed yet or anything like that? What’s a to typical work day like for AD’s?
@icezebra

@@jxayvxiv Well I will tell you that I got I-level orders so I'm not a typical AD, and not in a squadron. I'm at an FRC so basically the things that O-level squadron guys can't do, I do. They mess with oil and fuel and then send the engine to me for actual repair and inspection. My contract is only 4 years, I've been in since April. Some I-level is shore duty and some sea, I got sea duty. I don't think I'll be deployed until summer/fall next year. Work for me is about 9-10 hours tops, squadrons may work longer and harder though haha. O-level you're basically doing stuff like checking fuel and oil, basic inspections, cleaning the aircraft, etc. You're busy busy busy and always have birds to work on. On land works probably about 8-12 hours. On the boat it could be up to 18 at the worst. I-Level is a little more laid back. When an engine is due for an in depth inspection or something with the engine is wrong, it gets sent to you.You break it apart, replace modules, etc. You don't actually mess with the fuel, oil, or aircraft itself just the engine. Work on shore is usually about 8-9, maybe 10 hours. On the boat I've heard 12-14. It's dirty and sometimes hard work, but mechs are some of the funnest people you could work with. HM would be cool too, just depends on what you're after. I know for AD's, usually half your time in is shore duty and the other half is sea, and unless you get helicopters as your platform you'll always be on a carrier. If you have anymore questions just ask man I'd love to be of help.

Hello new sub! Can you tell us about your Navy job? An why you joined the Navy? Looking forward to viewing future videos

Leesa014 Right now I’m an undesignated Airmen which is the APACT (Aviation) program they have in the Navy. Currently my ship is Dry dock so I won’t be out to sea anytime soon however, I will eventually go to Temporary Duty to shadow other sailors on different ships to get hands on training & eventually strike for a rate/job that I want. The sponsors that I have a ABF’s they deal with fueling aircraft and such. There’s so many other aviation rates out there you can chose from such as Aviation Mechanics (AM) Aviation Ordnance (AO) the list goes on. So in the meantime while I’m on shore duty my first three years I’ll be Vlogging fun places I’ve been & seen so far until I go underway or deploy!

Thank You for the quick reply! Just waiting to hear back from the recruiter about my medical, than off to MEPS. So for me I'm just getting started, a bit nervous. Would you recommend someone go undesignated (Aviation) with what you know now? Just curious cause I've always heard don't go undesignated

Leesa014 Leesa014 No problem! Don’t be nervous! Boot Camp is extremely easy, it’s going to be rough the first few weeks but after your fourth week “Hell week” (You just wake up early & do a lot of firefighting) it all goes fast! Depending on how old you are, if you can Run your PFA in a timely matter & pass swim & the 1st & 2nd test and just stay mentally strong it’ll go smoothly. Try not to stand out.. Pay attention to detail. It sounds weird to say but I’d most likely do it again because the bonds you create with everyone is extremely different from the civilian world.. I’m still very good friends with them and I’ve only been out of Boot Camp for two months. APACT I’m still learning a lot about it, I know you can advance pretty quickly with APACT. If/When you strike for a rate you want if you pass the Advancement test you rank automatically rank up to E4. When I was in A-School the Captain said she came in undesignated and she doesn’t regret so I mean with every job it has it’s Pro’s & Con’s so far I like it (like I said I haven’t actually done any hands on training yet) but while we were in A-School it’s something I thought I’d never be interested in. It’s interesting as hell, if I were you I’d watch Flight deck videos. Such as ABH, that one is really interesting. What do you want to do in the Navy?

Leesa014 Also, MEPS is easy. Don’t overthink the Duckwalk, remember to say “No!” That’s the word of the day. I’m not saying lie, but if you’ve done something that’s not following you legally or physically visible say NO!
