Such a wonderful surprise for the son's graduation and for both sons to have their father home on Father's Day. Thank you for your service, sir,and to the family. Thank you for your sacrifice of sharing you husband/father in service to our country. Being from a military family, I remember the separation from a parent and the struggles of single parenting necessary during such times. God bless your family, and I am so glad you are able to be together right now 💗

Hell, it was already hard enough for my dad to actually want to go to my graduation. If it was a 17hr flight, he'd say its impractical to fly all the way over there.

I had something like that happen at my church about ten years ago. This one couple at our church has a son who's in the military. About ten years ago, right around Veteran's Day, the son came home for a visit, but didn't tell his parents. The young man and his family came to church and sat behind his parents. During the pastor's sermon, when the couple turned around, they saw their son and grandson, and there was an emotional reunion. The reunion must have been emotional for the pastor as well, because he was not able to finish his sermon.

NAVY DAD AT WAR - 2024 ?? Where would I be without you dad My hero of night and day I'm so glad you love my mother And think of us when you pray The last time we went to church You reached for me with your hand. I looked at you, then made a wish That I might be just half the man. I love my father of this earth And I love my father of heaven. It's a lot for me to love, you know For I'm only eleven. Mom and I sure miss you Since you left to defend our flag. When others ask, where’s your dad I can't help but cry not brag. By Tom Zart! Most Published Poet On The Web! George Bush Tom Zart

This is a nice story for sure, but any father that I personally know, or are aquatinted with, would do the very same thing if they could get leave and had any way to get back. It’s not heroic, it’s just what responsible parents, moms or dads, would, and should do for their children . It’s funny that we have such a screwed up society with irresponsible parents or worse, complete absentee fathers or mothers that this makes a national news story . It speaks volumes of how low we’ve sunk as a society, in my humble opinion.
