My dad was a UDT frogman 3 silver stars , 1 bronze star and purple heart .Sniper, paratrooper, demolition, expert pistol, expert rifle. THEN WENT Military Police Operation Sargent 27 years, life I was born on base and grew up on base dad had me work out with the teams when I was 12 mostly running on base gun range at 13 I will remember taps at dusk to this day taps is the hardest thing for me to hear. I was all pumped up to be a short timer ,when the day came I realised who I was leaving. Military life I'd do it all over again.No regrets.

I come from a long line of family and friends that are in the military and have served their time, a marine may joke and call the air force chair force but its all out of respect. The SEALs are not tougher they are just more highly trained, you dont need to be physically tough its 95% mental. Im joining the marines this upcoming summer but to those of you saying their the best branch

I'm in the service, and on my right shoulder there is a sword inside a spearhead with an airborne tab. I guess that's just for the 1% to know what that is, and probably less since most don't know the actual unit that wears that, but still recognize that it's SOF of some kind. Completely agree though. Fun fact for those nay sayers, more people get make it into the NFL every year than the Navy SEALs. For the kids out there, go watch a movie and play some more video games. Don't talk shit here.

@kvarntobben so it would seem at fist sight. but it is their duty to defend society and to go to war without question. that is the life of a warrior. that is his duty. a nation should never forget it's duty to it's soldiers for it is this nation, through it's leaders, that sends them to war. this last part is often forgotten.
@thespecopser81604 жыл бұрын
Salute to every SEAL around the world. We germans invented frogmen during WWII. We call Frogmen Kampfschwimmer, which literally means "combat swimmer". Our german Frogman creed says: "learn to suffer without complaining" I guess that's what exactly is the point that makes a great Frogman, no matter what nation. He keeps fighting harder and better, than the opponent, even when he's the only one left against dozens of heavily armed fighters. He keeps minimizing their ranks even though he got bullets hitting him and he's bleeding and moves forward towards his last breath. A frogman is not a profession it is a way to live, a way to die. The frogman decides when a fight ends, which is not until he wins or dies. I SALUTE YOU MY COMRADES FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD, NO MATTER WHAT NATION! WE'RE ALL FROGMEN!

In times of war or uncertainty there is a special breed of warrior ready to answer our Nation’s call. A common man with uncommon desire to succeed. Forged by adversity, he stands alongside America’s finest special operations forces to serve his country, the American people, and protect their way of life. I am that man. My Trident is a symbol of honor and heritage. Bestowed upon me by the heroes that have gone before, it embodies the trust of those I have sworn to protect. By wearing the Trident I accept the responsibility of my chosen profession and way of life. It is a privilege that I must earn every day. My loyalty to Country and Team is beyond reproach. I humbly serve as a guardian to my fellow Americans always ready to defend those who are unable to defend themselves. I do not advertise the nature of my work, nor seek recognition for my actions. I voluntarily accept the inherent hazards of my profession, placing the welfare and security of others before my own. I serve with honor on and off the battlefield. The ability to control my emotions and my actions, regardless of circumstance, sets me apart from other men. Uncompromising integrity is my standard. My character and honor are steadfast. My word is my bond. We expect to lead and be led. In the absence of orders I will take charge, lead my teammates and accomplish the mission. I lead by example in all situations. I will never quit. I persevere and thrive on adversity. My Nation expects me to be physically harder and mentally stronger than my enemies. If knocked down, I will get back up, every time. I will draw on every remaining ounce of strength to protect my teammates and to accomplish our mission. I am never out of the fight. We demand discipline. We expect innovation. The lives of my teammates and the success of our mission depend on me - my technical skill, tactical proficiency, and attention to detail. My training is never complete. We train for war and fight to win. I stand ready to bring the full spectrum of combat power to bear in order to achieve my mission and the goals established by my country. The execution of my duties will be swift and violent when required yet guided by the very principles that I serve to defend. Brave men have fought and died building the proud tradition and feared reputation that I am bound to uphold. In the worst of conditions, the legacy of my teammates steadies my resolve and silently guides my every deed. I will not fail.

@spartan310790 Here is a version of the legend's creation "in World War I during the 1918 Château-Thierry campaign near the French village of Bouresches, Marines assaulted a line of German machine-gun nests on an old hunting preserve known as Belleau Wood. The fighting was terrible. Those Marines who weren't cut down by the enemy guns captured the nests in a grisly close-quarters battle. The shocked Germans nicknamed their foes, teufelhunden [sic] (devil dogs)."

I dont like the sense of blind faith and 'patriotism at all cost'. On the other hand I fully embrace and respect the teamwork, never giving up, fighting to protect your country,..etc Now here again... Most of the time though you will just be a disposable pawn for wealthy industrialists.. You will in fact do their bidding and make them richer. A wealthy businessman wants to secure a source of rich earth minerals in Sudan. However there is a 20 year old civil war going on, your government never cared about them. Now, this businessman wants this source at all costs, he has contacts in the upper echelon of the government and lobby groups, he manages to bankroll a presidential candidate's election campaign, helps him in, in return the real decision-makers behind the president agree to return the favor. Operation free Sudan is hereby greenlit. You and your fellow soldiers are sent to Sudan to 'liberate' that country and 'protect your nation from foreign threats'... This is pretty much what the military does nowadays. Gone are the days of glory and honor.

@mikeyadigone Well, I'm glad you got a reality check. It is extremely disrespectful to say that the Special Forces of any branch is worthless. Someone saying that one is better then another is just childish, they all have things that make them easier and tougher then the others. A example is, Rangers get 2 MRE's a day at Ranger school, SEALs get 3 meals a day. On the flip side, Ranger are mostly ground, while SEALs have combat diver course, the hardest military course one can take

@SWATg4ming Precisely. Human Beings. that's what the last sentence meant. i was alleviating responsibility from the soldier and pointing towards the politicians (representatives of?) as being far more responsible. it takes a special type of person to be a warrior. it's not 'just' about laying down your life it's also about taking life. that too is a sacrifice. it should NOT be overlooked. once you've killed, something in you changes irreparably. that said, i stand behind my initial statement.
