Great video Jake as always, Working construction from age 18-20 has personality shown me so much about myself. I loved pushing myself everyday even when it was 110 outside or 20 degrees didn’t matter I loved doing it rain or shine. I’ve seen people quit after the first day and never come back. Jake is the first mentor that tell people about getting a construction job and I love it because “NOT EVERYONE IS MEANT FOR THAT LIFE” Keep up the fire content Jake as always,

All my years of manual labor (18-25) made me the ultra runner I am today. I humped lumber as a laborer, built concrete basement walls, swung a hammer. That work was just as valuable as my 4 year degree. But my degree didn’t prep my mind for ultras, my construction jobs did.

I used to love when I got asked to go help my stepdad cut down trees. Meant I got to go track out 5 miles on a horse and drag a tree back half the time we’d be cutting up while doing it so it didn’t feel super hard cause we were having fun. We’d be competing to see who would split wood the fastest. It’s not hard to do hard work

It seems like this guy is one of them “at the moment guys”. Today’s generation don’t experience walking from the grocery store with 20 heavy bags six blocks walking to the house or going to work with your uncle slamming bricks in to the wheel barrel Rolling it in the dirt to a fare location and going back to get more. Society has made it really easy for boys not to acquire a trade while in high school. In the 70s 80s trade industry was in the high schools and young men had a work ethic back in those days.

Boys and men are being demonized for their very existence. They are taught the future is female, in a way it's not their fault they come out the way they do. It's the f*cking society.

i would be so hyped to get some advise on how to take on the pipeline, especially from someone who wants to help future seals. idk what dude was thinking but he definitely doesn’t want to be sitting there right now.

Watching only 2 minutes so far and I can tell you the following. Body language tells me he’s got zero motivation, zero clue what to do in life much less what to do in the military. He’s got no communication skills, zero, if daddy is his spokesperson. He’s got no level of maturity. He has no clue. He needs to do a serious gut check. He needs to know who he is before what he wants to do.

This young man has zero motivation, and has no idea what world he’s even thinking about trying to join. If you have to have a parent speak for you, well, that tells Jake all he needs to know about your chances of becoming an SF operator.

The dad definitely came across a Zweig video on KZbin one day, and told his son, “on Monday I want you to talk to this dude I found on KZbin” and the kid has ZERO interest lmao

A lot of these high school guys look pretty zoned out, zombied out. This guy is picking at his chin fuzz and staring off into space---he doesn't seem like the warrior type or the SOCOM type. The Dad needs to be honest about it as well as his son.

When he leaves and steps foot. Your parents ain't witchu. People need to get a grip on the reality that they're first stop is STILL and ALWAYS will be being in the military. Yeah, civilian snuffy jody may want to be a fucking Ranger but they forget what comes before "Ranger".... it's Army. Army Ranger. Are you ready to even be in the Army? Let alone an extremely elite facet of it. In RASP and SFAS as a dude coming off the street no matter how good your pt is looking. That E-4 that's been in 3 years already got the jump on you. That E-5 in SFAS coming from the 75th he's got the jump on you. Even the National Guardsmen and reservist will have the jump on you. That's your "competition" so to speak. Do you have the wit to not let that faze you? Keep your goal in mind. Proceed accordingly. But your goal is at the top of the staircase. Getting in the military in general is your first step everything else including that, is up to you individually.

Yea, I hope he took you up on that construction job. I wish he heard this earlier so that he could've done wrestling or water polo. Shame, I see the high school freshman me in him. We need to see some heart from this dude. IF HE WANTS IT, HE NEEDS TO SHOW IT. Because this ain't it Sir. Unsociable and undriven. He needs to understand how fuckin difficult this shit is when you're starting from scratch. I have a water polo background both high school and club, 5 years on an 911 ambulance, and I cut down a orange tree orchard over the course of a summer in SoCal. It's obvious that my friend never did anything like that when we workout because as soon as his legs start getting heavy he stops. He can't pass the PAST for shit.

For real. Condescending tone , speaking nonchalantly. Kids reflect the parents.
