Navy Veteran tells a light-hearted story aboard his old ship the USS Hornet

CAPT Harry B. Robins Jr USN (Ret) enlisted in the United States Navy in 1956 and was commissioned as an Ensign and Naval Aviator via the Naval Aviation Cadet (NAVCAD) program in 1958. After multiple tours flying Grumman S-2 Trackers, he served aboard USS Hornet (CVS-12) from 1965 to 1967 as Assistant Navigator as well as Carrier Aircraft Plane Commander (CAPC) flying the Grumman C-1A Trader. He later served as Commanding Officer of Composite Squadron THREE (VC-3) and Naval Air Station Barbers Point. After retiring from the Navy following 32 years of service he served as Emergency Services Director of Monterey Country. He is an accomplished craftsman and active supporter of the Boy Scouts of America.
