I saw this on your Instagram as well and I'm not Hawaiian but I reposted it and I gave my opinion of how terrible it was. I had said: "Words can't even explain how terrible this is. You don't take culture, history, & etc away from people. This is especially if you don't live or are part of that culture. Forcing one to stop using such a historic and meaningful word is truly repulsive."

I clicked out of the video as soon as you mentioned the petition so I could sign it. I feel so heartbroken for you and other Hawaiian natives. I'm actually from the Republic of Ireland and similarly Irish land and people were stolen in history and our language was also banned. Luckily, Irish (or Gaeilge as we call it) was made legal again quite a while ago now but I have never taken it for granted and am so proud that it is my first language and English my second so I totally understand how you are feeling right now. I hope the trademark gets taken away from them, no one should be able to steal a language!

I'm not Hawaiian, I've never even been to Hawaii, but I have a fondness for its people and culture that I can't really explain. Maybe it's just my interest in indigenous cultures in general, I'm not sure. Hawaiian culture's just amazing, plain and simple, and it absolutely infuriates me that someone thinks they can just take words like that. I honestly thought there were laws in place that were supposed to prevent businesses from being able to trademark commonplace words (Such as greetings!) so I feel like Aloha Poke is breaking laws. It's so wrong that they were able to get those words trademarked! I am a big believer in capitalism, but the right laws have to be in place for it to work properly! I'm not someone who signs petitions normally, but this REALLY upset me. My husband and I went to Hawaii on our honeymoon and we learned a lot about the culture and the history, and so Hawaii holds a special place in my heart. There is no way that this company will get away with this.

I LOVED CHILDREN OF BLOOD AND BONE. I was so invested in that book. As I was reading it gave me a lot of Percy Jackson vibes and I had never read Percy Jackson but I have read The Lost Hero and The Red Pyramid. After I finished reading it I was in such a book hangover​ I didn't want to read anything other than cobab. So I picked up Percy Jackson and it gave me my fill in fantasy and adventure.
