EVERYONE GET THIS TO THE TOP: Naz, Brooke or Justin if you are reading the comments us Legends have some very important information on looking after guinea pigs, We are soo happy you all are getting two guinea pis since they get lonely. But, they need a bigggg space not one a pet shop might recommend you. You should clip their nails once a month, please don't use the harness you don't bring small animals on walks because it could hurt their spine. Don't leave them outside all year, in the summer you can let them out but if is super hot then it will be boiling for them. Make sure they can go outside to eat grass and run around in a big cage but put some shade on the roof, if it gets cold you can but not on freezing days and I recommend watching a proper KZbin video about how to look after them so you don't take care of them wrong. They can also eat 10-25% of veggies like carrots and cucumber. Only let them out if the grass is DRY. Wet grass can make them sick.

Just to give you some info about the guinea pigs cage it is quite small but you can upgrade it! You can buy something called C&C grids you can buy about 20. Fleece, food, and hides are a must-have and you can research more about other toys, guinea pigs need hay in their diet so make sure you have a hay box in their enclosure once you upgrade it!!! also, DO NOT breed! (legends copy and paste this in the comments to educate her!) 💜💜💜

Pls pls pls do your research I have two guinea pigs and they are such a huge responsibility so here are some tips that I wish I would’ve known before I got mine- 1. NEVER BUY ALFALFA HAY. ALWAYS BUY TIMOTHY HAY. This is very important because alfalfa has too many calories, hay is meant to be an almost no calorie everyday unlimited food. Make sure they always have hay 2. Have an at least 2x4 cage. I personally recommend the 2x5 cage bc it’s not too big nor too small. The C&P cages are great cause you can always take them apart and build them however big you want the cage to be. It’s almost like a Lego building. Just look it up I’m not sure how to explain it. 3. Always have tunnels and hide outs. You should have at least one hideout for each guinea. They need at least one tunnel. I personally recommend a hammock because mine really love and they get all cranky when I take it away 😂 4. Always have 2 of everything. For example, 2 food bowls, 2 water dispensers, 2 hide outs, maybe 2 tunnels or hammocks. 5. GIVE THEM VITAMIN C. They need vitamin C to survive. I recommend buying some vitamin C tablets from a pet shop. 6. If you ever look into buying guinea pigs NEVER BUY FROM A PET SHOP. ALWAYS GET THEM FROM AN ADOPTION CENTER. I made the mistake of buying one of my cavies from a pet shop but what I didn’t know was guineas from a pet shops are more likely to have an upper respiratory infection (simple terms a sickness) and it cost me 150 dollars to get the antibiotics they needed. 7. Feed them 1/8 cup of pellets a day (try to go for more natural ones) and try to limit treats to once or twice per week. Try to give them veggies daily. 8. FIGHTING IS NORMAL DON’T SEPARATE THEM. Cavies are dominant animals and they will fight to see who dominates. Never separate them or else they will have to dominate each other all over again. But of course If they draw blood or get seriously hurt they might not be the perfect match so that’s the only case you should separate them. 9. Do not yell at them nor hit them. When they need a punishment use a firm tone and say “do not do that” and put them in their hide outs as a form of time out. Do not lock them in their hide out because they need their supplies. Never hit or yell because that will cause them to get aggressive and rebel. It’s hard to not yell but you have to be patient. 10. HAVE LOTS OF TOYS FOR THEM. Guineas are curious creatures and need toys for mind stimulation and just to not get bored. 11. Never get a male and female and put them in a cage together. Always get the same gender. 12. If you see a sign a guinea is sick take it to the vet immediately. Guineas are very good at hiding illness so if you see a sign immediately take action. 13. Get a small vacuum. The vacuum is to suck up their poop and hay that they leave on the ground. You should vacuum their lining daily. 14. For bedding I love fleece liners because they’re so much easier to clean and better for the environment. I really recommend them instead of paper bedding. 15. GET READY FOR THEM SMELL. Of course no matter what you do
