One of Scotland's finest: check out "Holiday, Big Boy" and "This Flight Tonight" (a Joni Mitchell cover) and one of the finest tracks they ever did "Child In The Sun" ALSO: in concert during that middle bit, Dan (singer) plays Bagpipes instead of a Talkbox.
@darthkarnagge83433 жыл бұрын
"Hair of the Dog" uses a talk box extensively during its bridge.[ The song's title is a pun ("hair of the dog" = "heir of the dog" = "son of a bitch" According to Nazareth frontman Dan McCafferty, the track provided the original album title with its recognizable chorus of “now you’re messing with a… a son of a bitch! (an “heir of the dog,”)” Nazareth’s record label, wasn’t about to let them name the project Son of a Bitch. Thus, Hair of the Dog was selected as a compromise.

Whiskey Drinkin' Woman is one of their best. Bluesy and smooth. You'd love it.

“Heartbreaker, soul shaker, I’ve been told about you.” This album is one of the greats. I just watched a few of your videos for the first time, including the one about “no politics on this channel.” I’m grateful for what you seem to be trying to do. There’s enough politics out there; it shouldn’t creep or insinuate itself into every aspect of our lives. Keeping great music alive is a “noble endeavor” and I think you’re right about it bringing people together. I’m grateful to have found your channel.

You know its going to be good when it starts with cowbell.. All I'm thinking is wait till the talk box We use to play this as loud as possible. In the locker room when getting ready for our football games.. it had way of getting you fired up. Whiskey drinking woman should be your next Nazareth reactin..

Yup thats a talkbox. Bit of a novelty back in the day. This whole record is my persoal favorite pure rock and roll record, and watching you get excited over this just made the song/record even better. The real magic on this record is very last song. Thanks for sharing this.

RIP Dan McCafferty (lead singer) and Manny Charlton (lead guitarist) who both passed away recently (Dan in November and Manny in July). Nazareth formed in 1968 and have been performing and recording since then. Dan's singing was inspired by primarily Little Richard. He went on to create his own screaming, raspy sound that inspired numerous 70s and 80s bands, including giants like AC/DC and Guns N Roses. Listen to Dan shred on uptempo rockers like This Flight Tonight, Bad Bad Boy, Telegram, and don't miss the timeless rock ballads Dream On and Love Hurts. Long live Rock N Roll!!!!

Conan O'Brian had a recurring bit on his NBC TV show where a real clown in costume went out in public and got up into peoples face and this song played in the backgound. It was soo funny. Aw, memories.

This was my ring entrance song when I boxed. I was never a mean guy so boxing never came natural to me. I just loved it. But the beat and energy of this tune would just pump me up and get me in the mood to rock! Thanks for the memories, Jamal

Saw these guys 3 times back in the 80's. Twice at a very small club hanging out right at the stage. The other time at a great 2000 seat venue in Atlanta, Centerstage. Killer shows, esp after burning a bit... :) That sound you're hearing is actually a buzzed up bagpipe... he played the hell out of it

C'omn man...there is no rip. It has a galloping riff but the chord structure is totally different. Get real. If you listen to enough music there is NOTHING that doesn't have a part of some other song in it. Even the stuff we consider classic rock have part of old blues riffs in it.
