I'd say. Go for the cheaper one. Eco put ELRS on it. And with the extra money you save. Get a boxer

Strong work, JB! Always dig your intros

100% agree, my first quad was the Glide Hammer which was indestructable, then put good electronics on it with cheap motors. Props and motors is all I destroyed on that one.

JB is spot on here, the AOS 5 is certainly a great peice of engineering. But the problem isn't the measurable difference in the frames' performance specs, one could be a '200 points frame' and the other a '110points frame' but if you are an 'up to 80 points' pilot, both aircraft will only ever reach that '80 points' level of performance, making them effectively the same because of a limiting factor (you). Finding out the 'highest performance' quad assumes the pilot has a skill level that can actually utilise the top end of the performance on offer, which the majority of pilots never will. Especially when it comes to the capability of modern 6s 400-700g drones. Competitive pilots are often throttle capping their aircraft in order to gain more control and faster times because they simply can't operate consistently at the max the quad can offer. And that's racing, not to mention cruising around or freestyle. The things that honestly matter more when starting out: - The economy of the WHOLE flight system, things like the quantity and cost of the batteries needed, the cost of the replacement motors or arms (Everyone thinks 12s X-Class looks awesome, until you see the component and running costs) - Actual, real-world durability, not just numbers in a spec of how thick carbon parts are (because you will test the limits of this if you're learning, unlike the limits of performance) - Efficiency of available power (because low flight time means more batteries are needed=more eventually dead batteries to replace=more cost over time) - Availability of components (those obscure, fancy-looking motors are great untill they are discontinued and you have to re-buy a whole set to get something you can actually replace TLDR; When you are learning, whatever quad you choose you will end up buying twice. Once at the start and again in replacement parts. Which aircraft price would you be happy to do that with?

I’m 5 month in the game, bought the Nazgul. broke several arms, 1 03 unit. YES, almost after every flight you will have to repair and buy new stuff. Buy the ECO, also bought that to have two quads after i realised that it’s annoying when the quad breaks early when you go out flying and you still have several lipos left 😅

Maybe you should have stayed on less powerful quads like tiny whoops and 3.5inch longer and lay off freestyle tricks for a bit. You really need a sponsor or be wealthy to go hard at freestyle. Going for 5inch freestyle HD early on is a pricey, hasty, and risky approach to learning the hobby. It's easy not to crash.

Thanks for the advice JB. I went with the eco 03 and love it! Great quad to really kick start this journey. So much better than flying the ol dji fpv🤙🏻

Joshua, did you review the correct AOS version? The question seems to specifically ask about Version 5, you compared to the older Version 2. What are your thoughts on the new AOS version 5?

Well, I bought the GEPRC Mk5, over time now have three of them. All ELRS, one HDZero, one Vista, one Air-Unit. Had before and still have an Evoque, not buying more. AOS5? Can't see how its worth the money, but someone loan me one for a month and I'll know................... ;-)
@MarkusResselАй бұрын
I have both, like both, the GEPRC Mark 5 is more awesome imho.

None of the AOS products are worth it.

I think thats a bit harsh. He's a single dude building his own lineup of FPV products, I can respect that. If he feels like adding a premium thats his decision. Does the resonance stuff matter? Probably not, but every Product tries to set itself apart from the rest somehow.

@@MarkusRessel I agree, you don't HAVE to buy into the sales chat. I didn't! 😆
@moonraker814Ай бұрын
The AOS frames and Supernova motors I've used are fantastic. I also like being able to use preset profiles from Chris Rosser. These things combined are why I prefer to build with AOS components and presets.
@GowieeeАй бұрын
@@MarkusRessel I wouldn’t say it’s harsh. For the extra price for indistinguishable performance gains and less durability what are you actually getting? As an engineer myself, it’s easy to delve too deep into the numbers.
