I really l love this gnome, he is adorable. I am however more impressed with the fact that in about 5 seconds you taught me how to do a magic circle! I have been crocheting 6 years and could not figure it out for the life of me! As soon as you said "It's just a loose slip stitch" it was just like the cartoons and a bright lightbulb appeared above my head lol! Thank you for the wonderful tutorials you do. I have used quite a few of them. :)

Oh my goodness! I was following a different tutorial & had a problem with the nose. Yours is MUCH easier, thank you SO much! Also, you have simplified the magic ring for me. Others make it look so complicated - but when you said it's just a loose slip knot I tried your way and it worked the first time. Great instructions - easy to follow video - and beautiful nails :)

Hi! Your gnomes are awesome. I have a small problem. I don't know how to work in a round without a stitch marker because I lose count all the time. Where do I put my stitch marker when I start a new row on the hat? I made the body without a slst in the 1st stitch and muddled my way through. But when I tried the hat, I euther had extra stitches or fewer. Could you please help me?! Thanks in advance!!

When working in the round, either with slip stitches or spirals, I would suggest putting the stitch marker in the first stitch of that round. As you move to the next round, remove the marker and mark the first stitch of the next round with it.

On the hat..if I add 1 extra stitch for the first stitch...to get 7...extra stitch on next row to get 8 etc..How do I end up with 24 on 19th row?...Wouldn't I only have 20?

Round #1 contains 6 stitches. Round #2 contains 7 stitches. Round #3 has 8 stitches. If you notice, the stitch count number is always 5 more stitches than the Round #.
