This is when 60's garage was changing into psychedelic sounds. Good stuff!

Todd Rundgren somehow heard this Alice Cooper Nazz 45 in 1967 and formed his own Nazz group based on the sound of this one record.

The elements that made the ACG great are already there. Just a few short years from the big time, or as Glen Buxton would say, "The big mahops."

Love Alice’s early stuff. The beginnings of greatness.

Isn't it something Frankie...this song is incredible...to me it sounds like a Michael Bruce composition...but credited to all... including John Speer...I like it way better than "Don't blow your mind"...which I think was more successful...

Says Nazz from Phoenix? Michael, if you are involved in posting "Wonder who's Loving Her Now". Thanks. My 45 of it, is in storage. Hadn't heard it in years. The 'kid' and I were talking about you today...very nice things! The record came up. Didn't know if I could find it under Nazz/Spyders...but here it is! Of all your songs, this was always my favorite. Could it have been that long ago? Very special. Blessings, from "the one who got away"

Even these early singles show that a) they were an ace garage rock band and b) they 'had it' even then. I like the album too but Pretties does come off like an oddball mess. Which they did say it was just a rehearsal and wasn't meant to be the actual album until Zappa just decided to release it as is (because FZ thought they a disposable one-shot joke--love Zappa but it shows how much he knows.) But these early singles show the AC definitely had their shit together already. Well, until Ezrin REALLY got em in shape!

Ezrin assembled the pieces of songs into masterpieces.

So,no connection to Rundgrens old group the Nazz right?

Funny you're the only one to mention that!

Nope. In fact that's why they changed their name. Good thing for them! It was the whole Alice Cooper name/trip that got them noticed before people realized how great they were.
