I don't like the layup/standing dunk meter this year.. The meter sometimes come up late and I either get late or early release

Lay Ups 2 to three feet to the rim should be automatic, common sense. 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I’ll have a wide open lane to basket, im holding the stick/square and instead of the obvious dunk it ends up being a late layup. No matter how far, defender or not i can never guarantee a dunk

Cause I be doing skill dunks and letting it go when the arrow reaches the top and the randoms I be playing with be like “2k just hoed you” cause I miss and it says shit like very early or very late and I’m like tf you mean. Like if it said slightly either way I’d be cool but with a 93 dunk letting go almost as soon as it reaches the top there’s just no way lmao

I've been having a difficult time finishing layups as a big. It's my first year playing so when I get the pass when I cut I press squae on PS5 and barely contested and evne non contested layups be missing and I dont get why, or what I could be doing wrong? Do you think it's cause I'm holding the shooting button too long, and should have that meter to make the proper release?
