I'm shooting between 40-50%. The problem is, I release the button the same way every single time. I either get a weird release or they make me miss too much. Some games I'm lights out. I shot 7-8 from 3 one game and 1-8 from three. The game just isn't consistent.😒

My biggest complaint is the steals. I'm a PG with 89 passing and there's games where I can't throw a simple pass. Players are warping to the ball across the court and picking them off. I know when it's gonna happen because my pass will be delayed because it's sucking me into an animation. I love steals so they should be good but they shouldn't be broken like this. Makes it very hard to be a pass first PG. And before you say something dumb like " throw better passes" just stfu. It's not bad passes that I'm complaining about

My experience has been different. I throw some dimes. I think in 5 games last night I'm must've had about 60-70 dimes and had about 5-7 turnovers total. One game I did have 3 but I also had 14 dimes. I have 91 pass acc

The argument against sbmm with the long wait times is a very valid one. But to the people that say they don’t want to sweat all the time they just want to chill I feel like that’s just people who get carried by their better friends and they not really as good as they think they are. Sbmm don’t mean every game you go against someone that is actually your skill level. Just because your the same rank don’t mean your the same skill level. What those people are really saying is they want to be able to play people below their rank because they aren’t actually as good as their rank suggests. Just my opinion.

Skill based is good right now. Each game is fun and competitive. No one quits. You might still get some blowouts but its rare. People have to decide whether you want blowouts with players quitting and end up playing with AI or Skill based matches that are competitive with no quitting. You can't have it all.

The problem is PGs have went away from facilitating. PGs now want to dribble and shoot more than get assist. Sbmm is a topic that is being discussed in a lot of games and their communities. However, its something that has already been solved. Separating ranked and unranked. Ranked should have a bit of a queue(of course it would. You’re looking for nearby competitors at your skill level or higher), but unranked should create lobbies much faster (ranks dont matter here.) there should still be a protected bracket, sure, but not everyone falls under that bracket (that bracket includes players with disabilities etc). Im not a comp player in 2k (in fifa that’s a different story), and when i go and play squads rec with friends, i understand there’s a chance that we do well, or get into a tight game or get blown out. Thats mix-matchmaking in a nutshell. When we go to pro am, there are definitely less blow outs but the game is far more competitive (this year with users being forced to take shot meter off and use hugh risk, but im talking more about the communication between teammates). If casual’s want to engage in mix matchmaking (the entire idea of casuals btw) then they go in with this understanding that they will play against and with all kinds of skill levels. If they dont want to take this chance and want to play against people on their skill level guaranteed, they should consider going to ranked where they can do that. Again the problem is only something being considered now, but wasnt ever considered during whatever any one considers to be the best 2k (whether thats 16,17,19,20 etc).

Guarantee 90% of people complaining about SBMM are people that just want to go into the Rec and ego boost themselves whilst playing in a full 5. I only have a squad of max 2/3 and enjoy playing Rec, but don’t enjoy getting bombed by people that should be playing in other game modes. I agree that matchmaking shouldn’t be a 15 minute wait, but they shouldn’t force smaller groups to play against sweaty 5’s. I’ve got a solution for the steal spam/adrenaline bars: Full adrenaline: Full array of interception animations 2 bars: Can only intercept in close vicinity, lunges can only tip the ball 1 bar: No interceptions, can only ever tip the ball 0 bars: Bad animations to where the user can’t even tip passes That way you can bait someone into wasting that first and/or second interception spam, and that will make the lanes a bit safer.

Even as a big/wing, the rhythm shooting is my bread and butter. The way I'm able to post up and use all my normal post moves (post spins and fades) and easily transition into hop jumpers, stepbacks, etc has turned my 89mid range rim runner into a real jump shot and post threat. I'm not forced to either cut or sit in the corner and get my baskets that way. Other playstyles are viable and I'm not required to make a sweaty comp build to be competitive. People don't expect a 6'7 PF to have a respectable 3, elite mid range, and an unstoppable post game on top of being able to rim run or shoot off the dribble if you bite on any of my jumpers.

That rhythm shooting (RS) debate really just comes down to common sense honestly. It's harder to quick stop and shoot with X compared to spotting up in the corner and shooting with X, just like it's harder to use RS after a quick stop compared to spotting up and using it. It's not like it's a 70% boost for a specific shot type and/or builds; it's 70% on all shots across the board. Quick stopping and shooting with a 70% boosted green window is difficult and as such is a skill that'll really add a skill gap to the game and shooting. Those faster PG's aren't stopped from being spot up shooters in anyway. The position and style they play is what makes the RS in that situation less viable unless they really master it. This could be said for other aspects of the game as well. Those same PG's with the same mechanics available to them and attributes won't get on the glass like a 7 footer unless they master their individual skill to do so. That's a part of the beauty of the game in 2K and real life. This is what skill gap is about and what we've asked for but when we get it we cry because what most people want is something they're good at that others aren't so they can stand out. That's not how advanced skill works. I'm currently still using X unless my team is up by a lot I'll try to use RS. Even when up big I forget to use it a lot because I instinctively use X since I'm used to it. I've been practicing with RS a lot though and once I get more comfortable with it, it'll naturally be used more than I use X like how adding a skill to yourself works in real life.

I’m only on Choc purely because the rhythm shooting can have a delay so that small window will close to open instead of wide open when the dribbler creates the space or an open shot to light pressure. It is possible to use rhythm shooting off the dribble, I play with PGs that are doing it (they’re lesser known content creators). It takes time to work on it like switching from button to rhythm shooting even for catch and shoot, after years of pressing button. Now SBMM being what it is now is an issue because of the wait times I’m just a Pro level atm and the other day I just went to play mycareer because it was taking too long and only had a bit of free time lol

they need casual matchmaking and competitive matchmaking standards... rec, theater: Loosen up the restrictions... in PG keep them strict. BUT they do NEED to fix the PG rewards, they're WAY too low

The main problem with sbmm is if youre a red border like me you literally cant find games and you cant play with friends that are casual because they dont want to wait in my 10 min queue times for a game just for them not to be able to hang. You get punished for being good at the game. If youre getting consistent games youre a casual. The game is a pay to win and a pay to play game. The only reason sbmm is in the game is to try to get more money from casuals. Sweats spend money day 1 no matter what.

When it comes to interception steals, they STILL haven't fixed when players will go in the opposite direction of where the ball is. For example, if ball is over the head, players will go for steal at the ground etc. And the animations to go for on ball steals are horrendous. Those are the worst animations I've seen in ANY 2K.

My problem with Rec is when I run in a squad of two or three the other squad that joins you seems like they always are PlayStation guys and those are the worse. On top of that they come in to play rec 5v5 and want to play buddy ball it just doesn’t make sense when there 2’s & 3’s courts why come to play 5v5 and play like that it kills the game for other players

Park doesn’t have SBMM why y’all keep saying that you either get on the dots or not but I’m with it only being in Rec, proam,proving grounds take it out of theater and for everybody keep saying park it’s not in park, park has no matchmaking Also full squads should play full squads rather it’s 2s, 3s, or 5s if i go in with a full squad I should play a full squad but if I go in the rec with 4 and a AI then I should play against a team of 4 with a AI it’s not that hard to understand it’s millions playing everyday it’s no way there isn’t other teams of 4 with AI’s

I feel that they need to buff paint defense thats 1st. Small guards mashing the paint and doing smothered layups ain't it or always being able to dunk on a center is crazy! Shooting just needs to be consistent of you know your jumper wether with rythm shooting or square you should be able to green especially if you are taking good shots. CONSISTENCY.. Learn Your Shots.

My friend had a pretty good solution to the lane steals. Get rid of interceptor, don’t have lane steals tied to steal. Only have the steal attribute for on ball steals. Make it so everyone can get lane steals evenly. No direct stat, make it simply just a timing thing. That way, you aren’t just screwed because of a build. You have the same advantages they might. Now it’s just iq and timing. You can still spam but now so can we. That simple.

Steals as far as rebounding needs to be non exsistent.. spamming as soon as you grab a board and the other team gets it and a easy score is CRAZY.. YOU should be able to rebound and at least make a pass and not always have the risk of loosing the ball off of a rebound instantly.

This is an issue in all games Brute. People, mostly pro players who complain alot, never like to adjust to the new game. You hear them all the time making complaints and comparing/justifying their reasons behind “it wasnt like this in a previous game”. Low and behold they never tried everything they could with the new mechanic. They never came close to even mastering the basics of the mechanics. Choc is one of those whiny kids. Another carried by team, abusing overpowered things, but the moment he has to think with a skill based mechanic, now he screaming to 2kDevs to fix it. Rhythm shooting is actually a little too strong in comparison to button shooting. You have a slightly quicker reaction time to use the button over stick, but that green window you get for rhythm shooting is RIDICULOUS. There are a lot of ways to use the pro stick and a lot of animations that simply make it way stronger then using the button. The main caveat that someone mentioned is that shooting is bugged, especially with the pro-stick. Occasionally the game, no matter WHAT you did before or how you try to adjust to it, will give you a Very Early release no matter what… that shit is fucking stupid. Pardon my french. That needs to get fixed and im sure there are other bugs like that. And fix the connection strength online. It still feels like im playing below 30 FPS in some game modes and with how small the green window is for button shooting, i need every frame and millisecond accounted for.

Sliders are easier in rec brute, but they need to fix the shooting , I’m sorry I pay attention to my visual cue and it sometimes gives me fast speed ups and slow pulls , the shots are all random in my opinion

Personally I like having SBMM in Rec and stuff because as someone who doesn’t have a set work schedule and is able to consistently run with a set 5 I want to be getting a challenge or else I’m going to uninstall the game just like I did eventually on 24 because I’m bored out of my mind beating on bums. As far as your question Brute on shooting in rec goes, I think shooting is just as difficult as it was when the game dropped. I kept getting slightly early and slightly lates consistently on my shooting builds just off a 1 millisecond difference and when I hopped on my big man yesterday I saw plenty of teammates who experienced the same issue where their first shot is a slightly early brick they hold it an extra millisecond and it’s immediately a slightly late when they weren’t using rhythm shooting

Sbmm should only be in modes with proving grounds and pro-am and just make the rewards better to entice players to stay in that mode the problem with the comp scene is that they want to have games where they chill and I understand that but they play the same way they would play someone that is a sweat and bring it to a mode full of casuals you think they tryna deal with that ?

When they patch steals, we gonna find out how bad the contest system is. They can't get the defense right, so mess up shooting and missed lay ups. THERE IS NO DEFENSE IN THE GAME.
