Thoughts. 1. Joe Fulks was essentially the greatest scorer in NBA history until 1952, and most people have no idea who he is. 2. Max Zoslofski stayed pretty steady around #3 all time through the mid 50s, another relatively unknown player. 3. Ed Macauley being the leading scorer into the late 1950s despite not having the name recognition of a Dolph Schayes, George Mikan, Bob Cousy, or Paul Arizin. 4. Dolph Schayes doesn’t get brought up often enough despite being the NBA’s all time scorer through the late 50s and into the mid 60s. 5. Bob Cousy is thought of as mostly a passer, but was around 3rd all time in scoring into the mid 60s. 6. Look how fast Wilt Chamberlain rises to the top. 7. Bob Pettit doesn’t get mentioned a lot considering he was the NBA’s all time leading scorer from around 63-66. 8. Bill Russell, despite not being known as a scorer was hanging around the top 10 all time in scoring well into the late 60s. 9. Oscar Robertson, known mostly as a triple double machine, held on for a really long time as 2nd scorer all time behind Wilt, well into the mid 70s. 10. John Havlicek feels like a forgotten great considering he retired as the 3rd leading scorer all time. 11. Kareem was already a top 5 scorer all time at the end of the 70s and still had basically another decade left to play. 12. Gail Goodrich gets kind of overshadowed as an All Time Laker, basically retired right around a top 10 scorer all time. 13. Elvin Hayes retired 3rd all time leading scorer. Doesn’t get mentioned a ton either. 14. George Gervin climbed into the top 10 rather quickly and leveled off rather quickly. 15. Adrian Dantley has to be one of the most overlooked scorers all time, finishing his career 9th all time. 16. Similar to Dantley, Alex English retiring 7th all time gets overlooked. 17. Michael Jordan finishes 15th all time in scoring his first retirement, despite playing only 9 seasons, one of which he was injured. 18. Moses Malone retires 3rd all time In scoring, but doesn’t get mentioned as a top 10-15 player usually. 19. Michael Jordan rises up quickly after his comeback to finish 3rd all time after his 2nd retirement. 20. Karl Malone just kept scoring so much even at the end of his career that he zips passed everyone except Kareem. 21. Reggie Miller finished 12th all time in scoring. A lot higher than most would probably think. 22. Kobe and Shaq were the only players in the top 15 in scoring moving up the chart for a decent period, Kobe passing Jordan for 3rd before retiring. 23. Lebron is the first and only current player to crack the top 15 and moves up rather quickly to finish 1st. 24. Dirk finishing 6th all time is very impressive. 25. Carmelo Anthony was still following Lebron up the leaderboard to 9th, despite feeling a level below him and some other stars during that period.

If it was like the 70s if someone scored 15,000 points from their entire career, they would be shocked

Wilt could have had so much more if he wouldn’t have stopped scoring in his last years. And Kobe could have got so much more. Kobe was benched all the time in his first years and the injury’s that held him back in the last few years costed him a lot of points.

Several players lost points due to one thing or another, e.g., Jordan due to his retirement, Bird due to injuries, etc. Lebron and Jabbar managed to stay healthy, which helps.

He's the all-time flop leader, too. Just goes to show, if you play long enough ...

Little error : Do Wilkins is born in France but he is US Citizen and played for US national team… -> no French flag.
