DeMarcus Cousins' bad pass at 1:33 is really just an indication of how bad the refs are at calling traveling. It is so bad that the player, in this case, called it on himself. Now, mind you, the reason that he got into this situation was that he was looking to pass to Anthony Davis but Davis wasn't paying attention. He rolled towards the basket instead of towards Cousins. Cousins had already decided to pass at 1:33 and put both hands on the ball in preparation. The pass wasn't there and dribbling it again would have been definitely called, so he just continued with his body motion which was to walk which HE FIGURED would have been called and therefore tossed the ball in frustration to get out of being called for walking, which to the casual viewer looks like an embarrassing play. With how bad the refs are, he could have just held on to the ball and continued play...terrible.
@shak95582 жыл бұрын
What? you can clearly see he jogs back and then starts running because it was a mistake. Refs are obviously terrible but let's not act as if it wasn't clearly a terrible pass. It looked like AD was coming in to set a screen so he passed it thinking AD would turn left towards him, however AD quickly turns right and the defender on him turns left thinking AD would try to set a screen.
@bohanxu61252 жыл бұрын
"HE FIGURED would have been called and therefore tossed the ball in frustration to get out of being called for walking" No.... he didn't travel. He only took 2 steps after gathering. He had to throw the ball away because if he takes one more step, that would be a travel.

@Sabe2k2 жыл бұрын
he had two steps after he gathered. It wasn't a travel.
@jakeryan21682 жыл бұрын
If you slow it down you can see the timing of his pick up. Think about how james harden step back isn't a travel (if you can't understand that then you can't understand reffing basketball). When the ball turns into a pick up position his right foot is down. He steps left (1), right (2) and passes it (terribly). He was catching himself from traveling. Its fairly obvious, mainly the fact that no one reacted to it. Not a single NBA player on the court or NBA referees... Cousins was annoyed because AD wasn't in a great position. - Your Friendly Video Coordinator/Film Analysist

I don’t think any sports clip EVER has confused me more then the one at 5:19. The JR smith mistake makes infinitely more sense even if it’s dumb, he clearly actually lost track of the score which isn’t an excuse but at least it makes sense and can be explained. I’ll admit I don’t know basketball rules very well but I really just cannot understand what was going through that guys head when he saw his teammate pass the ball in to him two feet away, and not only didn’t grab it but like put his arms up as if to say “I’m not touching that” like why would you EVER do that when your team passed it in, why would you even do that if the other team passed it in I can’t see why you’d ever do it at all.
@andrebenites99192 жыл бұрын
Its not the case, but sometimes they throw the ball and don't touch it so the clock won't start. I guess Tucker is not used to take the ball to the other side, and was waiting for a teammate more capable (like harden) to take it. (In this case, the point guard (Eric Gordon) inbounded the ball so he could give it back to him quickly) But, of course, he messed up bad not blocking his opponent, but I could see some logic that (partly). And the inbounder was mad as hell, in a justifiable dituation
@andrasszabo15702 жыл бұрын
@@andrebenites9919 You don't touch it if you want to conserve time because you're losing and nobody is in the vicinity so you can let it bounce on the floor without the possibility of giving it away. Since Houston was leading at that time, they should've wanted the clock to run. There was nothing to be gained by not touching the ball and not starting the clock. And he clearly was showing himself for the ball before it was inbounded, then the moment it went live, he acted like he was allerigc to it. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
@andrebenites99192 жыл бұрын
@@andrasszabo1570 No doubt his play was dumb and had no sense. But I was just saying there was situations where you don't want to touch the ball and he mixed it up. Also, I think he wanted to inbound the ball to eric gordon, but when eric gordon inbounded (exactly for the purpose for the clock to run out) the guy didn't follow his train of thought and... well, rest is history

I legitimately went "heeheehee" at 2:41 😂. I've never laughed like that in my life but it was just so funny how he not only slid, but then missed his follow up shot.

As a Cleveland fan , I still feel the pain from that Jr Smith play.

If anything that first one is a pretty solid display of Trae's passing

Cousins at 1:30 is one the funniest bro passes to opposing team then gets posterized in the same play

The travels are always the best, dudes out here walking across half the court while holding the ball like a football lmao

Personal favorites will always be 1) Javale going behind the back, losing control of his dribble, nearly tearing Ty Lawson's ACL, and then not even giving my man a helping hand off the floor 2) Von Wafer missing a jackhammer in OT, not realizing he missed said dunk, then blasting into Jermaine O'Neil to cause the double dribble 3) the Bargnani shot, because... SHOOTERS SHOOT BABY! Andrea only ever had one thing on his mind and that was the back iron. The DeAndre dunk on Brandon Knight is the most overrated play in recent basketball memory. 6'11" 280lbs vs. 6'3" what, 195? That they celebrated like it was Pippen on Ewing or Vince on/over Fred Weis really tells you all you need to know about that sorry-ass Clippers squad.

The DJ dunk isn't celebrated because it's an athletic feat, it was just funny how hard BK got bodied.

5:05 idk what is more funny p.j. tucker not getting the ball or that knick hesitate to take it

Knight has got to be the unluckiest player in terms of these moments. He gets his ankles broken by Kyrie, baptized by DJ with that poster dunk and missing a wide-open lay-up to seal the game.

7:30 honestly wasn't that bad of a play, just an absolutely insane shot to make for the tie
@lik79532 жыл бұрын
The guy who threw the ball in the air is embarrassing. He could’ve held on to it and been fouled and they would’ve for sure won the game. But he threw it up trying to waste clock but ended up passing to the other team who tied it
@TumbiMtika2 жыл бұрын
If he holds the ball for just *two* seconds that shot *NEVER* happens. That is awful game management.

@@TumbiMtika what I mean is I see what he was thinking, he just didn't throw the ball high enough/threw it top soon
