Would’ve been better matchup pre injury Penny and Prime T Mac. It would’ve been classic. Probably just as good as T Mac vs. Kobe before T Mac’s injuries. I would’ve loved to see Penny vs . Kobe prime Kobe before Penny’s injuries.

Ammon Moshe He still was playing at a All Star level at that time. I believe he had got injuried in the playoffs Shaq last year there . He was injured in that season after Shaq left , but he was still playing at a very high level. That season did him in completely because he didn’t have anyone other then himself to take up the scoring load. Shaq was gone.

@@alfredmcglothen6050 Penny got injured in 96. before playoffs. Penny still played in the playoffs but Horace Grant went down and Bulls swept Magic. On the 2nd game the Magic were actually blowing out the Bulls (no other NBA team ever pulled that off against that Bulls team) but Bulls came back. It was a double dose of injuries to key players (with Magic lacking bench depth) and terrible coaching for Orlando whose coach was useless. Orlando had refused to let go of coach nobody and get Pat Riley at the beginning of that season. Shaq saw the team didn't do anything to get Pat Riley, didn't do much to upgrade their weak bench, plus losing in both 95 and then 96 playoffs, Penny/Shaq getting injured... that's what tipped the balance for Shaq to decide LA would be better and a better run organization, which was easy to see. Shaq's ego also couldn't take the fact Penny had eclipsed him as the fan favorite

Penny was the most skilled and complete player pre-injury even Mj&Magic said he had next every player during that time say that he was the one to this very day if not injured the G.o.a.t discussion may be a little different in this game no more athleticism but his high IQ and court vision were still devastating opponents were at his mercy especially when he posted up and he was a former shell of his former self but still unstoppable&unguardable

I dont think penny performance was way worse after injury in 96. In 95, during playing witj shaq, everything will be easy for his teamate. That why Penny look especially great

funny because Penny here is un-athletic and riddled with injuries, but still the most efficient and best team player on the floor. McGrady would never be better than healthy Penny not even close! Penny in years 1, 2 and half of year 3 was a highlight reel and played like a veteran. After that his injuries screwed up his career. Early McGrade is a very poor Penny Hardaway at best. McGrady was a scorer, Penny was the complete player. Penny is playing an awesome game, but in reality physically he's at 40% of what he used to be.
