Cryuff is probably the most successful football person in history if you consider both his contributions as a player and as a manager. He was a pioneer. Steve Jobs of football but much more likable.

Thats Zagallo...who won 3 world cups...2 as a player and 1 as a manager..he also won a 4th as a assistant manager but im not sure if I should count that..he's competed in 7 world cups and went to the final 5 times...I guess he's almost 100yo now Just googled it and Fifa does recognize his 4th world cup title as a assistant manager...damn Wiki: "He holds the record for World Cup titles in general with four titles in total. He was the first person to win the FIFA World Cup as both a manager and as a player, winning the competition in 1958 and 1962 as a player, in 1970 as manager, and in 1994 as assistant manager.[1] Zagallo also coached Brazil in 1974 (finishing fourth) and in 1998 (finishing as runners-up) and was a technical assistant in 2006. He is the first of three men, along with Germany's Franz Beckenbauer and France's Didier Deschamps to have won the World Cup as a player and as a manager and the only one that has done it more than twice. In 1992, Zagallo received the FIFA Order of Merit, the highest honour awarded by FIFA, for his contributions to football.[2] He was named the 9th Greatest Manager of All Time by World Soccer Magazine in 2013.[3][4]"

He developed Van Basten who won 3 Ballon D'ors despite retiring at 26 (could've had 5+ Ballon d'ors without injury problems) he helped develop Romario the only football player in history with over 1000 official career goals, he was Pep Guardiola's mentor, laying the foundation for Tiki Taka and he invented 4-3-3 the most popular formation of modern football. And he achieved all this while being a chainsmoker (I don't know how much he actually smoked but allegedly alot), there's even a picture of him smoking a cigarette during half time of the world cup final, this shit was too easy for him 😂

The thing with Cruyff was not only his level of skill, but his football brain and his ability to lead from a very young age. He was maybe one of the most influential players and managers because of his style. He always preferred to play with the ball, to attack and not to wait for mistakes but to be active.

@@johnmartinez6594 thats why i said possibly bro, i personally havent seen him play and cannot judge him, but his achievements are far greater than CR7. I am a huge ronaldo fan but i just think that di stefano changed the club and changed its mentality to ''win at all costs''
@ryancolby9662 жыл бұрын
@@topgfan2007 wouldnt say di stefanos achievements were far greater. won more league titles but was only 30 games in a league season and didnt have arguably the greatest club side ever assembled in the league at that time. won 1 more european cup at madrid but had the munich air disaster not happened, highly likely wouldve won less (even if the european cup had started years prior). individually, achieved less at madrid. but agree would be good to see a reaction.

@@ryancolby966 yeah i cant really say much though about di stefano because he played way before i was born, from what history has said about him tho i wold say he edges cr7
@ryancolby9662 жыл бұрын
@@topgfan2007 the problem is some will say di stefano is better because he kickstarted madrids success, which is true but shouldnt be used as a way to judge a player as it is unfair on players purely because of when they were born. statistically on an individual level ronaldo in his prime was better than di stefano and he maintained a higher level for far longer. if the romance is taken out of it ronaldo is atleast a top 4 player of all time, arguably the best. di stefano is around 6th-10th best all time. would still love to see a reaction though.

Greetings from The Netherlands! Yes, Cruijff is the father of modern football. Just look at Macro van Basten, Dennis Bergkamp, Rijkaard, Gullit, Koeman, Guardiola, Barcelona and Spain with their 'tiki taka' play. The most hliarious thing was his talking. He analysed football in a way nobody could understand it. As if a university professor tries to educate a kid of 4 the in and outs of university economics. Some of his quotes have become part of the Dutch language like: every disadvantage has its advantage. It's so true.

Guardiola, then Guardiola as a coach found a player who was slow, not strong but with the skill of control the tempo and see the game like Johan... Busquet. Fun fact, when Messi won his first Ballon d'Or, Cruyf said if Messi can provide the right pass and when to dribble he wil lwin 5, 6, 7 Ballons d'Or. Johan was a beast.
